In today's video, I share 9 PROBLEMS every immigrant has had to face at some point in their journey. I'd like to stress that this is all very much based on my own personal experience, which means not everyone will have gone through this. Nevertheless, i hope the video can provide some sort of insight to whoever needs it and as always, thank you for watching :)

For me, the cultural shock was the level of knowledge of "americans". In Romania I graduated an elite college, studying strongly physics and other things but physics remained and I like it very much. I thin kit modeled my personality. I had jobs like laboratory electronics technician at University laboratory and computer technician at university digital & communications department and 3rd job: network technician: i setup internet telephony gateways for 3 sites of the multinational company I was working for, enabling communications for 20 people. BUT the BIG BIG BIG problem was the MONEY !!! When I got here, in U.S. the government blocked my hiring, so the only place was a factory as a worker. Hard physical job and I was expected to drive forklift !!! Then jobs got harder 2nd job was added forcibly and """income""" just got over unemployment compensation after 14 (fourteen) years of """work""". Really strong cultural shock. Now I am on disability and earning more. And I'm dpoing things at my level of education, like learning MsAccess programming, knowing for sure, that U.S. will NEVER allow me to work. Yours american citizen with 2nd american passport.

Of course, all the """colleagues""" asked my when I will travel to Romania. I was answering them that next year, but because I had to give them an answer. They thought I am idiot because they were idiots. In reality, I saw a short (7-8 minutes) of a filming from my neighborhood about the time I became american citizen. In the middle of the night just ONE light from public illumination system and stray dogs barking CONTINUOUSLY. Being organized in packs. And the mud !!!! All the time after I was coming from somewhere, my mother used to wipe the stains of mud from my jeans. All the time, every time. And I lived in a regional capital in a good zone.

I NEVER was homesick. All the people around me tried like crazy to exploit that. To exploit what they thought I have - homesickness. But I even came here with one way plane ticket. Knowing extremely well that Romania threw me out, thus NOT my country anymore. I wanted to return after becoming american citizen because things got worse, but my mother said NO. End of discussion.
