There’s one in my backyard, every night i sit out on my porch and hear this half scream half wolf howl coming from this slightly wooded area behind my house all other animals go quiet and then it sounds almost like a massive bear crashing through the woods, sometimes there will be creepy inaudible whispers seemingly said by the wind twice i’ve heard a voice in my ear the first time it said “Mark” the second time a month or so after i heard “Reminder” the sounds of children laughing come from the woods sometimes and the creepiest part would be the eyes that i can sometimes see from the edge of the tree line reflecting off the pond like two orange orbs floating in the air staring at my porch now whenever i get the feeling of being watched those noises and events usually happen just before or after and i get the overwhelming urge to run back inside

I didn't say a word until a year and a day had elapsed. I didn't really think it would track me down as my neighborhood is scarier than a rougarou. LOL

I'm from Louisiana and the rougarou was said to not harm people. it would annoy the hell out of you until it was killed. then revert back to a human then tell you to wait a year to tell people what happened. if you do it before then you will become a rougarou and share the same fate. hope these people waited a year.

@RE fan Louisiana. Pay attention. Louisiana was French owned territory at one point, before it was part of the US, before the Louisiana Purchase. Louisiana still retains some French culture to this day, especially in the southern part of the state. The Rougarou is the reason the French were so eager to sell Louisiana to the US. Of course, they didn't mention that before the Purchase.

Darkness, love your videos. Been a fan for more than 2 years. Listening to you is something I'm accustomed to and like hearing a friend tell stories while I do the stuff I need to. Your accomplice's voice, while both eloquent and regal, takes effort to absorb. I have to stop what I'm doing and pay attention. The guy deserves his own channel, but can you time mark his videos and keep them on one half or the other? Just so ya know as a native Louisianian , La Rougarou is more of a mix between big foot and a skin walker. Also it’s French-Canadian/ native-Afro American monster story told to us as children in south Louisiana. Otherwise great stories.

It was the LoupGarou when the tales were told in France but when the French moved from France and went to Canada and then came to South Louisiana the name changed to the Roux-Ga-Roux because it rolls better with the Cajun French tongue. I'm from South Louisiana and heard this story my whole life.

I don’t know what that guy saw (the old woman) but it wasn’t a loud Garoua/rougarou. And is most certainly not a Native American myth, it came with the French settlers to south Louisiana. I’ve heard you become one if you denounce Catholicism, but then I’m not Catholic, and from central la, not south. But I do know of someone who had an encounter with one, he saw red eyes following him, and was scratched by something. While he was driving in a very remote area. I’ve been to that area once, during full daylight, and it’s creepy enough then, I wouldn’t want to go after dark.
