The volume buttons are a pain, I’ve found the best way to use them is to click once which turns the volume symbol black on the screen then if you click the volume up or down one click at a time it seems to register ok. Don’t have an issue with the mirrors and reversing due to the quality of the cameras. I’ve had no issue with the projected charge on Google maps navigation, just done a 3 hour round trip and it was accurate to the exact starting percentage both there and back. The attention monitor is my biggest gripe, it doesn’t seem to appreciate that you have to look to the right in the UK when you’re approaching roundabouts. Other than a couple of minor gripes I think it’s the best car I’ve ever owned, super quiet, sooth and comfortable and the Harmon Kardon sound system is amazing.

Had one of these for a day while my Volvo was having some work done. I found the Harmon Kardon logo on the sound bar reflects onto the windscreen if the suns out. I kept thinking it was a heads up display or that something was on the bonnet! I too missed some physical buttons. The car always told me off for not keeping my eyes on the road but it was because everything is in the tablet and takes ages to flick through to find what you want. However, that being said I agree, it’s a really nice car overall, super quiet, quirky interior and surprisingly quick off the mark.

I changed my mirror when I picked up my EX30 from Volvo, but I have never changed them again. I don't find myself needing alter my mirrors to reverse - there's a camera? I'd prefer to have control over the volume rather than my passenger to be honest, but I do get the problems with volume control. But again, I don't change it that much for it to annoy me as much as you're annoyed. Personally, we've had no complaints from the few passengers we've had in the back of the car, and I've found there's more room than many taxis I've used in the UK! But we are a couple so bought a car to suit us with only the occasional passenger. We also wanted to get a smaller car because the UK is plagued by giant SUVs - so knew that we'd not have a cavernous interior. To us it's perfect. It's worth noting, the estimated distance on the car needs to learn your driving style and how it's used. Mine has become more accurate as its collected more data. So, having owned mine for over a month, I have absolutely no regrets and gladly don;' have any of the annoyance with mine you do.
@FrankTheTankA19 ай бұрын
Also, I could be mistaken, but you can basically get access to whatever you want via voice control? Volume controls suck, but hey google. turn volume to 7. I've heard that the voice control can pretty much control, or get access to, the important things. IIRC, there is no Certified EPA on Mileage as of now. It seems like most cars where you just got to get used to it, but also know what you're buying.

The explanation for buttons being removed is cost, of course, but there's no excuse for the irritating software. We were very keen on the EX30 but the lack of rear space means it's not a starter for us, and the frustrating software seals that. If and when we change our Polestar 2, it will probably be an XC40 Recharge, or - most likely - a Renault Scenic e-Tech, once it's been out a year or two so someone else can pay the depreciation! Thanks for the useful videos on the EX30 Kris, as everyone else is simply voting it the best EV in existence at the moment.

For people saying this is a cheap Chinese car and not a Volvo please stop it and do some research. Volvo has put out videos on the teams of people that were involved in creating this car and they are out of Sweden. Just because Volvo is in the Geely group doesn't mean Geely is cheapening Volvos or compromising them. In fact, if Geely was so terrible and forcing Volvo to put in such low quality materials as some of you claim, why is the Zeekr X built on the same platform full of premium materials? Why would Geely cheapen Volvo and not Zeekr? Did it ever occur to you that Volvo is into making sustainable materials and are using textured plastics and other recyclable materials to make the cars more sustainable? THey've said that. And as far as being so called 'minimal," Volvo has been Scandinavian understated for decades. Now they use screens but having a fairly austere interior is nothing new to Volvo. As for the platform, the SEA platform is a Geely platform. Geely hired an ex-Saab engineer, Kent Ove Bovellan, a Swede, to engineer this platform. So European know-how produced this platform. It's an excellent platform. The rest of the car is due to whatever Volvo chose in Gothenberg, Sweden. If it is cheap, it's Volvo Sweden that made it cheap, not Geely. And as for Geely, they like Swedish engineering. Their top designer is stationed in Sweden. Some of their engineers and tech guys are also positioned in a Swedish company they founded. It used to be called CEVT and now it is called Zeekr Technology Europe. Zeely is branching out to add more European know how in at least some of its brands. zeekrtech.eu

Showing both sides of the coin is called being balanced, and neither qualifies as clickbait. I also have 15 other videos on this vehicle. So before calling my videos disgusting, you may want to learn the actual terminology you are using. This video is specifically about the the 9 things I hate about this car, and the things I find terrible. I mean, the title couldn't be more accurate to the content. I mean, what else should I call the video?

@@KrisRifa Well, maybe not having this video .. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n57Pp5eenqaAm8U .. with the splash screen that says "AWESOME" and this one saying "TERRIBLE", which makes it hard to tell how you feel about the car. Maybe that would help. In general I like your reviews and that's why I subscribe but you can see all the negative comments about the car you've generated in these comments.

@@JohnWhitling sorry if you don't like the caption in the thumbnail, but they pretty much capture the tone and topic of the videos. I don't know what more to say, but it ain't click bait. Click bait is intentionally deceiving with a misleading title or thumbnail, and this ain't that. I don't take lightly to such accusations, and therefore I may seem hard in my response. Sure, there are negatives comments, but the alternative would be not to make the video and not tell people about what I don't like. But that would be dishonest to my true feelings, don't you agree? My job is to highlight the good and the bad, which I have over many many videos. I really appreciate you subscribing and watching the videos :) Cheers!

clearly, the difference between this EX30 and the C40 is that the C40 is a real Volvo and this is a Chinese crossover with some Volvo parts.

That's incorrect. This is sitting on the SEA platform but beyond that, it is created by the same teams that created the C40. And it's a more modern, updated car compared to the C40. People get way to carried away with the Chinese ownership. It hasn't changed most of the content of Volvo cars.

@@benjaminsmith2287 so the chinese battery, the extremely low top speed, the woobling stability issue, the horrific steering wheel controls, the useless "driver alert" mode that we had to turn off even in the test-drive because it was sending random alerts all the time and the confusing infotainment system that has several issues with internet connectivity and in which you cannot do something so basic as turn up or down the volume, are all Volvo decisions? that's very, very bad reputation for Volvo.

Do you think Geely rather than Volvo employees were involved in the design choices and for some reason stuck to design choices that Chinese consumers want rather than what the rest of the world consumers want? Either that or someone was a Tesla Fanboy in the design team and wanted to copy what Tesla had done but implemented it in a very poor fashion...not that they will be working for Volvo once all the owners put their complaints in about the lunacy particularly around the route planning and a few get stranded so that a flat-bed tow truck has to rescue them. That charge rate under 10% is nuts who thought of that they need to be gone is all I can say.

@@benjaminsmith2287and how do you now that Volvo did all the design? Produktion is in China and owner/shareholders are chinese and some of the errors must be because the chinese has got too much to say in the design of this car. Not like other EV's from Volvo earlier. I am happy with my C40 made in Belgium and don't go for the overrated hype with this car that is more a chinese car with a Volvo logo on it. Not really a Volvo
@benjaminsmith228710 ай бұрын
@@michaelcolind5082 Volvo made a presentation of all the designers and people involved in this car. Saying it is Chinese is you making that up. Not based on any true information out there. Look at who the head exterior and head interior designers are. Look at who did chose and specified the materials. The safety aspects. All of these people are Europeans based in Sweden. Your Belgium built C40 is no more Volvo than the Chinese built EX30 is. Neither are made in Sweden but both are spec'd in Sweden. And both cars have Chinese parts and parts made in other parts of the world. This is no Chinese car with a Volvo logo on it. It's a Volvo car and very much looks like one and people who have driven it says it feels like one as well.
