Done it twice…highly recommend the fall ie mid September start…..did the first 100 in July f that….it alleviates several of these issues.

Just a note, afternoon thunderstorms typically last at least a couple hours. Do not plans that they will ever be 20 minutes. I've been living in the mts for a decade here and they can go from 1pm-5pm easily, sometimes they come in earlier and sometimes a little later, but plan for that

Great video! Love that you share the videos of your actual trip, but also the things you learned along the way. The best teacher is experience, so it's nice when we can learn a little from other's experiences! Thanks for sharing!

Having also hiked the CT in 2021, ending 8/8/21, I agree with all your recommendations. Your videos have been funny, inspirational, scenic and informative. I took along Aquamira that I would’ve used at the “cow areas” if I hadn’t gotten fresh water from trail angels. I agree that it gets better and better as you go south, but I liked every single mile!

I loved the first 100 miles. Especially Segment 5, with it's views of South Park. In part, it was the anticipation of things to come and, (for me) the experience of thru hiking for the first time. I didn't experience problems with water, except in Segment 1. I didn't filter water on the trail until the Platte.

Can’t express how much I agree with you about the stretch right after Twin Lakes

WOW your tips are so detailed! I really appreciate the attention to detail. Thank you so much for the great advice taking us trail by trail. And I was not expecting you to say the "animal" is a mountain biker.. I can kind of understand why you would describe it in that way!!

Almost got ran over 5 times by mb's at segment 6 and I was using bear bells which I brought for exactly anouncing my hike but they didn't work. I am planing to start using a rear view mirrow next yeat when I will continue the CT (segments 7-13)

What sections are the “cow sections?” I do 5 sections every summer and want to make sure I have the extra filter/drops…thanks!! Love the video!

thank you for the tips! I live in colorado- and yes- those first sections are ugly..and yes- the storms this past august were rough. will you be doing the Long Trail in Vermont to finish off your mini triple crown?

I don't believe Poison Sumac exists on the CT so I'm curious what you ran into.

I love the first 100 miles. Live near the trail and have done it many times, backpacking, biking, hiking, running, skiing....your comments are really misleading.
