I’m soooo glad you mentioned eyelash extensions! Some of them look so ridiculous. You’re not supposed to know someone had eyelash extensions however they are sometimes done so heavy and unnatural that they have the opposite effect of making the eyes look small and heavy instead of open and large

I've always thought trying to fake big lips with fillers or over-lining your lips looked weird and cheap. As someone with naturally smaller/thinner lips, I've learned to embrace them because they match well with my petite angular face. With BBL's now "going out of style," it wouldn't surprise me if lip fillers were next. If you have small lips, embrace them!

I'm 35 and I feel like this is what make up used to be about, enhancing your natural features. Women used to wear only lipstick, eye liner or mascara at least in France (where I grew up). Almost no full face make up. Now, it's all about transforming the face. It probably has to do with the fact that before regular people could just buy a few things like mascara, eye shadow, foundation,.... Now they have access to more professional stuff. The cosmetic industry definitely did a great job in making us think that we need so many products, especially for our complexion. Just my 2 cents!

I just had a birthday and I’m sixty+. I have always worn concealer, foundation, blush, eye shadow, liner, mascara and lipstick or gloss. It used to make my high school bestie so mad because she wore only a little blush, mascara and lipstick or gloss but her boyfriend would tell her he thought she should wear less makeup to look more natural like me. It’s entirely possible to wear a full face of makeup and not look “made up” - just “better”. Usually, the trick is to take the trends and dial them waaay back so they’re just a tiny, nearly imperceptible change from your natural face. It keeps you looking current, but still natural.

i am dialing back my makeup to look more natural too. I think the reason is when men started wearing heavy lashes and big shiny lips, platforms, dramatic hair ect... it seemed like they were making a caricature of women. Now real women have to tone it way down or risk being mistaken for a man 👄💄

I’ve had my top lip injected twice in my life. IF it migrates above or outside of the lip line it’s bc the injector is not injecting it in the right spots , it’s all in the technique & how good the injector is. But also I’ve been told ppl who get too much filler esp over and over it can migrate out of the lip line bc it has no where else to go.

Totally agree with the heavy lashes, it’s all you notice. The cutout tops just look cheap. Try a setting spray to prevent makeup from transferring.

Shea, I love that you’re all about enhancing natural beauty! Growing up, i was always attempting to drastically change my look because I didn’t feel comfortable with me. Dying my eyebrows, spray tans, wearing jewelry or clothes that didn’t complement me, SHAVING OFF MY WIDOWS PEAK. I have learned that just because it looks good on someone else, does not mean it will look good on you! Less is more and you represent that in the best way! I agree totally! I’m over the fake lashes that look blown tires, the bush eye brows, and the peep sleeves. However may I make a solution for eyelashes. Use “The Ordinary” lash serum. It’s $14 and my eyelashes are filled in and natural looking and longer just from this serum. Give it a try!

Glad you mentioned filler! I've been getting lip filler for over 8 years now and got filler migration after a few years. The doctor I went to that fixed the issue told me it's usually caused by improper placement of filler (aka an injector injecting incorrectly). Choose your practitioners wisely!

You mentioned the concealer, and I feel the same way about heavy, cakey foundation and heavy contouring, especially when it doesn’t go with the person’s coloring. Color correction, scar covering, etc is a completely different situation. I’m talking about people doing it without getting properly color matched (most beauty and department stores will do for free), or not taking the time to apply it properly, and it looks cheap and fake.

I love the peekaboo cut out the tops they look sexy nothing wrong with them …what you didn’t talk about is people’s false nails that look absolutely chunky cut offs , to long and too much stuff on them that they’re not natural. that’s one thing you didn’t talk about and I agree with you about all the false eyelashes and all the crap that people put on their face. you have beautiful skin and you don’t even need make up when I was your age I just use a Ajojoba oil on my face and mascara and lipstick and you don’t need all that crap on your face either..your beautiful and will save your clothes

💯agree with the underwear tip, correctly sized underwear will look better and more seamless under your clothes. Something that I only learned in the last couple of years is that it's also important to consider your body shape/type when choosing the style of underwear (i.e. boyshort vs hiphugger vs brief vs bikini) as certain styles are more flattering on particular body types. I'm a pear shape and bikini and hiphugger just don't fit me right - I always thought it was me getting the sizing wrong, but it was actually that those styles aren't designed with enough room in the back for my body shape.

Filler always looks cheap. Especially when they ruin the natural shape and curve of the lip. A smaller lip can look so beautiful and elegant! Just my opinion 👄

I have been to classes with the doctor I work for/you have to know the injection techniques to execute perfect lips. And it's definitely not a one size fits all, it depends on what you are trying to do with the lips! I inject my own and won't let anyone else touch them because I am so picky. My lips look like they did before the collagen left my lips and I love them!!!!! 💋 (so does my husband but I did it for me)

Totally depends on the the person choosing to get filler. Also the product you use, skill of injector, and so on. I get it from my surgeon due to excessive dryness from very strong medications. It’s restored my natural look and the dryness, cracking and bleeding stopped. It’s amazing how quickly some judge. Sure everyone has an opinion but once name calling or broad terms are added.. well any productive dialogue is moot. Totally support everyone’s decision to choose what they want. ❤ You want big lips and lashes you can’t see out of?? Do it. Life is too short. Then again with a video titled in this way… I don’t watch much content anymore due to that or bother commenting. I just felt kind of disappointed (especially the medically necessary situations) Such is life. 🌸

Eyelashes that look like a spider died on your eyelids, putting contour ABOVE the cheekbone to “lift” the face, totally disregarding that contour is a shadow and forgetting that face structures differ and makeup is not one size fits all. And people are STILL baking their under eyes!! Yikes. And then there are people that tell you you’re wearing your sweater or shirt wrong and proceed to wear them in some bizarre upside down or backwards way that looks dumb and just … WHY??

Hi Shea! I’ve been following you since you had under 1,000 followers and were niche in the luxury community! I know from watching for so long that you don’t ever have any bad intent with your videos, but these are usually my least favorite of your videos. I remember I had a lash tech advised me to get a more dramatic lash, bc it will last 3-4 weeks. Which I agree by week 2 the lashes looked more natural and not so dramatic bc the lashes had fallen out. However the 1st 2 weeks were just awful. I have always had thick eyebrows, and they are black. I have been plucking since I was 13. They are starting to thin, and turn gray. My hair is not dark brown anymore, but my eyebrows still have a lot of black in them. They also stick up on the inner corners. I barely color where the eyebrows are gray and I use a medium brown to match my hair. I think you look beautiful as always and I love how you have grown more modest. Keep sending out great videos.
