Whilst I agree that less makeup makes you look younger as we age I have to also disagree with some of these tips. It really depends on one’s face shape and also eye shape. I wear eyeliner a lot and I’m 46 (also a qualified beauty therapist) but it doesn’t age me as I place it well and flick it out to elongate my eye shape and it really brings out my eyes. It’s all about proportion and how you blend and balance your makeup e.g. someone with a thinner face may make their face appear a little plumper by how they place their bronzer and blush and vice versa…someone with a plumper face wants it to appear slimmer. So whilst some of this is helpful it really depends on the individual 😊

I wear it on top only, my eyes are different shapes and it looks odd on the bottom so I stick to just the top. thin black line makes me eyes pop, i don't do the cat eye thing but I do bring it out a little on the sides. otherwise i just look like I have tiny blah eyes.

Shea I'm 57 years old and usually am told I look around 40. I do all of the makeup tips you put in this video and more. I agree that less is more when it comes to makeup as we age. I also think our hairstyle,clothing and posture make a huge difference too. As we age we really need to stay current with fashion and what suits our body shape. Good posture is very important also. If you slouch around and have low self esteem it colors everyone's perception of you.

Bronzer has always been meant to go on top of the cheekbone! It’s warm toned & supposed to show a sun kissed effect. Contour is cool toned to mimic a shadow from your cheekbone, so it goes directly below the cheekbone in the hollow. They’re 2 different things 🙂 I learned this from Alex on KZbin!

Love the makeup tips, especially the shadow as a liner and the placement of blush/bronzer. Bronzer just makes so much more sense on the top of the cheek bones where the sun is more likely to hit it and if you are on the thin side (or aging, as I am) contouring just makes things look gaunt and older. Your makeup looks much nicer currently than in the older videos, less IS more! But heavier makeup was trending back then, I am so glad things have changed.

I always love these videos. Really nice tips that don’t require major changes but instead small changes. Example I stopped using eyeliner when you first made the suggestion and I’m so glad I did. I see the huge difference in my look. Also I’ve started to fill in my brows again gives a nice look and less is definitely more. Sometimes heavy makeup is just to much but I think also wearing those neutral colors can also give the illusion your wearing less 🙌🏾🙌🏾

Shea this was truly helpful! I am 56 years old. I have never been taught how to properly put on makeup. My Mom wasn't into makeup (just the basics) and I had no sisters. Great video as always! Vegamour is legit. I tried it way back when Shea first promoted it, after I had hair loss from my third childbirth. Definitely started seeing a difference in month 2! Also a tip for hair loss, especially after many of us have had Covid, sometimes it’s caused by a zinc deficiency. Get some pumpkin seeds from Costco and start eating them! Or take a supplement with zinc and magnesium.

I love the lipliner trick. As we age our lips get thinner and our mouths start to curve down in a frown. When you stop the lip liner before the edge of the lips you eliminate the frown. Love it! Lisa Eldridge a makeup KZbind talked about this trick a few years ago.

What a good video ! Talking about number 7 : at 14, I asked my lovely, elegant mother, who wore a full make-up everyday, if I could apply some make-up. She said I agree, BUT : we go together to the beauty parlour and my beautician will show you an age-appropriate, light make-up. And when you grow older, I'll show you all my tricks, she said. When I turned 40, she told me that from now on, I should never apply blush below the ears, and the older I'd get the higher I should apply the blush. How touching that both her and your advice meet ! I have been doing this with my blush and bronzer for years! I basically just try to use it wear the sun naturally hits the most. I also like to pop some on the top of my nose, brow bone, and top of my forehead. I am much more subtle with the extra areas than on my cheeks. Just the natural alive and healthy look it gives me 😁

Let alone if you make them yourself, or go to a local seamstress to make it for you. Also, linen, cotton and wool are environmentally friendly, while most fast fashion is made out of petroleums that aren't. If you buy your fabrics locally, you also prevent the contamination of transporting your clothes from developing countries to your homeland which makes it even more environmentally friendly.

Just massage a mixture of onion juice and Castor oil two times per week on your scalp. It's cheaper and works wonders. Works best if you leave it overnight but you can also leave it on just for a couple of ours and then wash your hair. I personally add some canine rose oil to this ancient recipe, because my skin is so sensitive I can't wash my hair more than once every 10 days, so I also use translucent rice powder mixed with cinnamon powder to make the hair look fresh and not greasy. (That powder works fine with coarse and thick hair, I don't reccomend it for thin hair, but you can find how to make homemade dry shampoo, which adds some other ingrdients to that mixture and it'll work fine).

Yes, getting the 3 bottles is best. It costs less in the long run and when you run out of one, you already have the next on deck. Versus letting yourself run out and putting off ordering another. Be consistent everyday, it did work for my hairline

I wonder if it has more to do with how you do it, and having the colors compliment and blend in with your natural skin/tones versus actually how much you wear. Dramatic dark and bold colors are just thicker and darker and weigh you down more than lighter natural colors, in my opinion, even if it’s the same amount of each makeup

The lifted placement for blush and bronzer doesn’t work for everyone. That’s a very unnatural placement because people don’t normally blush there. The lifted makeup placement is taken from drag makeup. More masculine or sharper faces will benefit from this type of placement. If your face is already full or even slightly soft this placement will look off so will the eyeliner methods explained. She has a sharp face with more masculine (not saying she looks like a man, many models have this bone structure) bone structure and these makeup tips work better for those faces. Eyeliner will be too harsh as well. The best tips for appearing younger is to really analyze your face and body lines and figure out what looks best.
