When children are learning fire safety they should also have a safe meeting place away from the house. And if you have an upstairs knowing how to escape safely.

Yes, lots to learn!

Brilliant points. I also keep our most important papers all in 1 red box in case I have to grab them and escape... And have a list on the fridge of our family's mobile numbers and addresses for G to grab in an emergency. I've also started doing emergency phone call practises with him in case (if I'm unconscious) he has to call an ambulance / Aunty now he's getting a bit older.

Good points! I live on a second floor apartment. And I made sure I have a fire extinguisher in the kitchen. I check it yearly to make sure. I looked outside to see how I can use the balcony as a fire escape. I check the battery and the unit of my smoke detector every 6 months. I also have a gas detector because I have a gas stove. Because I live in an apartment community, I don't use real candles it's a safety precaution because safety applies for others too. There are other alternatives, room scented air misters. Living in an apartment community is being smart and careful. Because carelessness affects everyone around you too.

I was wondering how your 'wear everything in your closet' year is going. How far along are you? Looking forward to an update. 😀

I have been trying this and it works. I’ve gone from “well, these are cute underwear” to “oh yeah, these are the ones that slip below my butt all day long.” Wearing stuff is a true test.

I hear you about trying to stay in contact with loved ones we don't get to see often, or at all. I too can let months pass before reaching out. But at the same time... they don't do it either. They don't grab their phone and call me. So I refuse to feel too guilty about it.

Master lists are amazing! I do one for my groceries, and have also ordered it in the order the items are in the supermarket, so I (usually) don't have to run around finding things. Master Packing Lists are also GREAT. I have two I use regularly, and then have kept all the one from travelling overseas so i don't have to reinvent the wheel every time. 😊

Oh yes, I have a master packing list too! And I also order my shopping list by the store’s layout. We’re twins! 👯♀️😂

Our master packing list spreadsheet is getting pretty damned good now! I can filter by the type of trip (sailing, skiing, camping, weekend away, city break, beach holiday etc). I've also got it set up so that I put it in my calendar 6 weeks before we go so I can check travel documents and what the kids have grown out of or need replacing. Working on getting the rest of my life this organised!

I made my list of all the things that need to be done before Christmas. Felt productive doing that. Now I need a new list.

I usually just keep a rolling shop list all the time. Just jot it down (on the fridge-a magnetic pad and a locker thing up there that also holds my pen and a sharpie) when I notice any supply getting low.

This was so incredibly helpful. It is all sensible stuff, but having a list and a plan really helps. Yes, to decluttering! I am using the app Tody. A few adjustments and this all can be added and reminders will be so helpful.
