Hi. Can you just USB connect and issue commands to the ESP32, or is creating a sketch the only way to communicate. Like with the ESP8266, AT commands work unless other systems have been loaded. Nice videos by the way.

yes and yes. normally sketch is compiled and uploaded into microcontrollers. however if you program it a certain way the micros can listen to your command on a pc or mac or android and do the commands

Still struggling with errors but trying to get them figured out (Guru Meditation Error of type LoadProhibited occurred on core 1.) Thank you for an excellent step-by-step tutorial. My wife wants me to build a house-plant waterer after seeing your beverage dispenser!!

Thank you Miika. I went through that and now I'm back to missing tools again. Question: Is the "TO path" in the Clone Repository correct? Should this be in Documents or Program Files (x86)? What happened to the Python install piece?

I used with success the target directory: C:/Users/[YOUR_USER_NAME]/Documents/Arduino/hardware/espressif/esp32 path. Naturally I had to navigate to C:/Users/ to see what in my computer the [YOUR_USER_NAME] was.
