That's what I was thinking. I would think that the person wanting such a horrific transformation would need a full psychiatric work up, but even then I can't understand what Dr would do such a thing. Many doctors insist that a morbidly obese person go through a psychological work up before they will perform a gastric bypass or stomach stapling just so they are aware that it isn't just a quick fix, and so they are aware of the dangers involved and these surgeries are based on health reasons, not just to turn yourself into an alien. What happens when these people age and are stuck looking like that. Can you imagine when they have children? They must be so embarrassed, or their peers may want to come over just to witness such a thing

A lot of these things are not done by doctors. Or they’re done by doctors in countries that are less ethical. The lizard man had to go out of his home country to get some of his modifications done. I know of a different guy who would go to get it modifications from a guy who was not a doctor but because he did not use anesthesia, it was not illegal to do. He was not pretending to be a doctor. The guy with the modifications was getting cut on with no anesthesia whatsoever. I heard of a guy who had a fetish for amputees and wanted his legs cut off. No doctor in the US would do something like that. But he found an American Doctor, who had his license revoked, in Mexico who was willing to do the amputation. The guy chickens out but his friend who had gone there for the same reason went through with it. The unlicensed doctor performed the amputation in an unsterilized environment. Because the doctor was not working with the blessing of the Mexican medical Association, the amputee was not placed in a hospital but him and his friend stayed at a hotel in near San Diego. Instead of taking his friend to a hospital once they got back to the US, the friend takes him to the hotel and left him there. The amputee end up dying a slow agonizing death because gangrene had set in. His wounds were not properly taken care of and he was not given proper pain medication. The doctor got his license revoked in America because he was performing an authorized and botched sex change operations in San Francisco. He was performing procedures in non-medical environments and leaving his patients disfigured. It sounds like this doctor was not a surgeon but a medical Doctor Who decided to perform surgeries. “On May 9, 1998, Brown performed a leg amputation on Philip Bondy, a 79-year-old, retired satellite engineer from New York, in Tijuana, Mexico.[12] Bondy was one of the rare individuals suffering from body integrity identity disorder - a desire to have a healthy limb amputated. Very few reputable surgeons are willing to treat this disorder by carrying out such an amputation due to its direct violation of the Hippocratic oath. The morning after the surgery, Bondy was found dead in a National City, California hotel room, by Dr. Gregg M. Furth, a New York child psychologist and fellow BIID sufferer who had traveled with Bondy to Mexico after being denied apotemnophilic surgery in the UK. Though they both wanted their legs amputated, Furth had backed out of having surgery with Brown at the last moment, after seeing an assistant carrying a large knife.[13][1] An autopsy showed Bondy had died of gas gangrene. A police search of Brown's home - a ground floor unit in a San Ysidro apartment building - revealed blood-soaked towels, sheets and mattresses, as well as anaesthetizing drugs,[12] surgical instruments and hundreds of tubes of super glue.[14] Police also discovered video tapes of Brown's operations.[15] Brown was prosecuted in California for second-degree murder - an unusually severe charge in medical cases. A surgeon, who was a witness for the prosecution, testified that Brown had not left a large enough skin flap to properly cover the bone and stump. The flap was stretched too tightly to allow adequate blood flow and the tissue in the flap died, allowing an infection of Clostridium perfringens and producing gangrene. To make the murder charges stick, the prosecution had to establish that Brown had a history of incompetence and recklessness. A number of transgender women gave testimony of their experiences of Brown's treatment and subsequent medical history. However, he continued to have some supporters amongst former patients, even after his arrest.[4] Brown was convicted by unanimous decision and sentenced to fifteen years to life in prison”

Just curious why it is acceptable to recognize and accept transgender diversity, and not “racial identity”. I’ve seen media criticize “cultural appropriation” and I don’t understand why this is considered offensive instead of admiration. Aside from psychological identity issues; why would one take offense to others admiring art and culture to such an extent they would want to include in their inspiration? I don’t understand why one must be of Asian, or African, or Native American decent to appreciate the beauty and richness of the cultures. To be criticized in doing so? I’m not saying Rachel Dolezal was justified in presenting any form of deception. But is her desire or identify to be part of African heritage so different than one of transgender identity. Though I do believe transgender is based on physiological scientific foundation, couldn’t racial identity be based on strong psychological aspects? Course what do I know. I am who I am, and glad that it isn’t questionable in what is defined by society. Just a thought.

Self confidence is a really important thing, but one also has to be realistic & recognize that while yes, beauty is subjective, society is flawed (& has unrealistic or even inhuman standards) & not everyone can meet those standards when it comes to physical appearance. It's just that I would never tell someone they should 'be happy with what they were given by nature' if they're truly unhappy with their appearance. I've always looked very 'average' in my opinion, but I still recognize that I'm privileged as far as just 'fitting in' appearance-wise when so many lack that by no fault of their own.
