What I love about the "Games are Back" clip is it's a outtake and not one of the polished moments. Also, it pretty much expresses the underlying theme for this year combined with Ellen's squeeing at the cats and glitches in Stray. "I love video games!" "The eyes! Why Luke, why?!" "Improved Rat physics"... "Because Games are back, baby!"

The whole "games are back" bit still has me crying laughing even watching it again. I will say I did laugh pretty damn hard at the reveal of Friede being a 3 phase boss fight back when it happened live. I'm so glad some Blades in the Dark bits made it in. I binge-watched the whole thing in the past week or so and I love it so much. The hysterics about the sex bed was the highlight of the FMV Luke and Andy played. So many presh mems this year. Thank you for them. It's been a rather rough year and I'm so glad I've had Oxboxtra and Oxventure there to keep me going. One of my personal favorite moments was in Blades in the Dark when Edvard stepped into that room in Foundry No. 12 and pulled out a frag grenade and the music started with perfect timing.

I think there's also an element of amusing absurdity because the game manufacturers/developers thought that "gruelling slog" would be an appealing description for the game. Plus the rat physics bit is just a very odd thing for gamers to have apparently been blown away by 😂

The fact that there's 3 phases to that fight is just ridiculous. It feels pretty conclusive after the second. They should have just scrapped the first one and done something more like O&S (of course) where the one that dies affects who gets powered up for the second phase.
