I’m so glad you emphasized the need to be heavy handed with gel, & applying gel to roots to insure a good wash & go. I be telling my friends this, but they don’t be listening, then they be wondering why they wash n go’s don’t last. I’ll be sure to show them this video; they need all the help they can get!

You. Have. UNLOCKED wash and gos for me with the tip not to hyper define with a Denman brush but just rake products through hair with my hands! I have gotten a wash and go that had instant natural volume and really nice definition! Zero fuss, zero fearing upsetting the curls - I just let it dry on its own, combination air dry on an unseasonably warm day while shoveling snow, and a little diffusing the roots, pointing air down. This is the single most helpful and important tip for wash and gos I've ever gotten. Subscribing, thanks soooo much!!!

I did a wash and go for the first time, and I had no idea that my hair was ACTUALLY healthy! I've been stretching my hair out a lot because I was insecure of the shrinkage. Now that my hair is past my shoulders straight, it finally covers my ears when shrunken 😂😂😂 But I love how my curls look, and totally am happy to find this video of how to maintain the wash and go

Firstly, yup! I just don't gel to the root anymore because I have fine strands and I don't like my wash n go to be flat. It 100% does facilitate more movement and life in the length of the style. I tradeoff abt 2days of style for a bigger style. 2ndly, I just love you and have adopted you as a cousin in my head. 🤷🏾‍♂️ Great advice, thanks cuzzo!

Yes, girl I've noticed the longest I go without heat the more spiral my curls are. I've went without heat for going on 6 years. My goal was 5 years & I don't even was to straighten it anymore. By doing the shingling method & using a tangle teaser paddle brush my wash and go's last 2 weeks, if I style with gel 💚 . If I style it with a few leave-in conditioners, it will last maybe a week . I deep condition every wash day & hot oil in the winter. Btw...Loved this Video ❤

You've probably mentioned this tip (or touched on it somewhat and if so, I apologize) but my tip is to avoid high manipulation styles on first day hair. I sometimes like to wear my hair half up/half down and when I do I usually use a puff cuff. That style stretches the hair around the hairline, so I wear it on 5-7 day hair. You don't want your hair to be stretched out the first day.

I just have one comment! When buying a hooded dryer research the airflow! Some have circular airflow and you will look like you’re caught up in a tornado 😂😂😂 get one that has the lid that comes down and turns on the dryer that one has downward airflow to protect the curls

Love your tips! Your hair always looks lovely. I never mastered diffusing but I might try the method you recommended. One of my tips is to ditch the leave-in conditioner and try mousse. I stopped using leave in a couple years ago and my hair was better for it. I have even done ecosyler with no leave-in as long as i shampooed and deep conditioned well (follow the directions for the time and stop leaving it on for hours!). I use the Camille Rose Spiked Honey and the Doux's Mousse Def--no leave-ins and my wash and gos last a week at least and don't get dry. I consign the hooded dryer rec because that sets mine nicely and with mousse, I usually don't have to stay under very long.
@happycurlhappygirl

yesssss same! if you have a good moisturizing routine, a leave in really isn’t a necessity! kudos to you!

I don’t do a pineapple because my hair doesn’t lay down well the next day. I do band it even though it’s longer. Sometimes I dampen it just a wee bit and put 6 or 8 large twists in it. But this only works well with products that don’t flake.

Great tips! Wetline is my holy grail 😊 but for some reason my roots didn’t get the memo to not revert to frizz. 😣 My hair is quite long, I but it shrinks to a little past my shoulders. I finger coil my ends and try to make sure my strands soak up the gel. I think my hair maybe to dense at the roots. My roots starts off good, but takes forever to dry. 🤷🏾‍♀️ The ends are always curly and on point.
