funfact about the xenomorph: Originally, their shell was to be translucent with obvious hint that a human skull was the forehead, but the guy who did the coloring screwed up and it came out opaque instead, yet when the producer saw it rather than being angry he loved it so much that they went with that instead.
@travisjohnson6222 ай бұрын
Thats a good thing. Personally I think the skull design looks stupid. Why would the creatures physiology develop eye sockets when it doesnt even have any eyes? And, of course the teeth of the "skull" drop down from the crest to be the xenos actual mouth. So its like a skill divided where the nasal passage should be? Herein lies a serious design issue for future installments. Alien 3 for example where the xenomorph is hatched from a dog . How will a dogs skull expose in the crest when canine's have an elongated snoot? Trying to adhere to the skull crestbas canon, whatever Dog Alien head was cooked up would simply look rubbish. I love the lore that the facehugger will create from the dna of the host creature, a xenomorph that takes ln the charecteristics of that animal: Gorilla Aliens, Bull Aliens, Yuatja aliens. Id rather not sacrifice this bit of lore just so we could get the exact same upright alien out of any animal, all to show off the skull.. Because when it came to adapting other creatures with differing skull structures, it just wouldnt work. So writers would have been more inclined to just make the alien from 1 the universal creature to come about from face hugger impregnation of any creature. How tf would an Elephant alien crest even work? It just wouldnt. But lorewise you could have elephant aliens. Nothing says you couldnt.
@harvestercommander32502 ай бұрын
@@travisjohnson622if you actually paid attention to the lore. The xenomorphs absorbs the dna of the host during its growth. That’s why the human skull is there, as apart of the human dna it absorbed. While it probably doesn’t serve any real purpose, it’s likely just an anomaly that occurs during its growth. At least for the drones.

Great answers. Something about the shimmer in annihilation is so unsettling and almost sickening. You don't truly understand what it is.
@General_ChadahnАй бұрын
@@mitchypooit’s more unsettling if you read the books the movie was based off. “The shimmer” is actually called The Crawler in the books and was a growth that transmogrified the lighthouse keeper. There’s a scene in the third book where the alien begins to emanate from the lighthouse keeper in a local bar. The alien is so incomprehensible and its attempt at communication makes every person in the bar act completely erratic and inhuman, to the point where they accidentally kill themselves. Even the shimmer, what we can perceive, is unknown in purpose(my best guess be terraforming attempt by beings we havnt seen in the movie.
