I love the overcomplexity of these vintage designs. All the mechanism to spin the blades/pencil with a crank, instead of just spinning the pencil against a blade by hand like the classic ones. Seems even more complicated than just using a knife lol

I'm tempted to get one of these smaller more hardy pencil sharpeners for small game hunting. Easy and fast way to make very simple arrows. Just mass produce cheap ammo you can make anywhere. These would make it more symmetrically sharpened than using a knife so they will fly straighter.

depends on the condition of the wood and the angle of the sharpened tip. Even still as far as dirt cheap infinite ammo goes. Worth it.@@KingBongHogger

I have the one at 0:24 it works better with a single sided bevel (like chisel grind) blade, it's what they came with originally. Had 1:26 on a door in a closet in my house growing up, it might still be there. 😂 The tension spring was busted, so whatever.
