Hi, and thank you for your kind words about loving LA -- I love it, too! During the week, there are no parking restrictions on Beachwood Canyon. On Sat., Sun., & Holidays between 8am-4pm, you cannot park on Beachwood Canyon Drive after the stone gates. It's fine to park there during the week and after 4:00 pm on weekends. Before the stone gates, the only restriction is a 2 hour block for street cleaning. It's 10-12 on Tuesdays on once side, and I'm not sure about the other side of the street. You can get a horseback ride to the Hollywood Sign at Sunset Ranch. It's pretty cool, and on my to-do list!

I work for the Hollywood Sign Trust and we would like to recommend that you DO NOT DRIVE UP BEACHWOOD CANYON. This is the WORST place to go. Not only are the streets VERY narrow to drive, but there is absolutely NO PARKING. The residents will also call the police to send out parking monitors who will write you a ticket even if you're behind the wheel and your car is running. MORE IMPORTANTLY: the traffic congestion means that in an emergency, an ambulance or a firetruck cannot get through. So PLEASE STAY OFF OF BEACHWOOD CANYON.

Hi, Sorry for the late reply! I filmed the A-Roll in August 2022. The b-roll of the hike to the Hollywood sign were from hikes I had taken in January 2022 and Oct. 2021. The Griffith Observatory shots were from different times in 2021. The shots for the hike up Beechwood Canyon were taken in Jan. 2021. The shots from the Hollywood Reservoir were taken in April/May 2021. Hope that answers your question!

Hi David, Apologies for taking so long to reply! Yes, you can drive your car -- one of the best places to see the Hollywood sign from your car is to drive up Beachwood Canyon Drive, north of Franklin Drive. This is at about 3:40 in the video. As you're driving up Beachwood Canyon, the Hollywood Sign will be RIGHT THERE in front of you. Sorry about your mom. Namasté.

Hey, not a dumb question at all! The sign is HUGE!!! Each letter is 45 feet tall. That's comparable to a 4 to 5 story building. I knew it was tall, but when I hiked up & saw it close up for the first time, the size still took my breath away! It's one thing to know how tall it is. It's another to actually see it! Hope you get to visit sometime soon!
