I just had a major realization because of your video and I'm literally crying. So thank you and I want to share my conclusion here so that it can help all of us who are dealing with fears and anxieties about our insecurities and fear of rejection. With the first point she said "question why"! So I did that. I said to myself "why am I so afraid to hang out with friends and be at social gatherings?" The answer was that I was afraid of people judging me and seeing me for my insecurities." Why? "Because then if they know that (in my case) I have an eating disorder, health issues, or am someone who is anxious and awkward= people would not want to be my friends, romantic partner, business partner, etc... and they would judge me." So then I thought... and what if they did see me for my insecurities and judge me and reject me? Then what? Then I realized that if they did see me or ANYONE who has anxieties, health issues, or is not attractive and then JUDGES and decides not to be their friend.... THAT'S ACTUALLY A GOOD THING FOR PEOPLE LIKE US! Because then you rid yourself of someone who judges you for your insecurities and your attractiveness instead of having compassion and kindness towards you and wanting to know you for your mind instead of your appearance, how much income you have, etc. So even worst case scenario is actually a blessing! If someone judges you and rejects you for the things you are afraid people will hate about you, then good riddance! It shows more about their poor character than anything wrong with you.

that's insane, I was just reading about how not to fall into the trap of fulfilling other's expectations of you and now Renee's video!!! i have a good quote: They get frustrated when you don’t behave as they expect. That’s key to understand-it’s their problem, not yours.
@michieljanssen5994 жыл бұрын
I think you are amazing for the fact you share your problems with the world. It really helps. Ican perfectly relate to you as a person. I’m 19 years old, goodlooking (yeah show off, but it is what it is), shy and caring too much about others. The past year I’ve had a kind of depression and two months ago I found out the main cause was my social anxiety. I skipped school and didn’t do other stuff just to not be around other people. I didn’t like myself at all and I knew it had to change. Finally I’m in the mood to confront my fears and look to myself in mirror. But I still find it hard letting go the overthinking and anxiety. I mentioned the fact that I’m good looking. And I really struggle with the fact that I’m good looking. Some people will say I’m a poseur, but I dont care atm. Sometimes I really hate myself for having social anxiety and a lot of insecurities. For me it feels like I have no valid reason to feel that way because I’m attractive. For the people who can’t stand this comment, I understand.. I just needed to share this. ✌🏼

A lot of my anxiety stemmed from being ridiculed by people on several occasions a few of which were teachers. I've been openly made fun of, had a teacher yell at me for wasting materials in lab because i made a mistake, been told that I dont have the right personality and that I'm not smart enough. So I developed pretty sever anxiety in college centered around the possibility of making mistakes and have been battling it for 6 years now. It's a constant struggle and it's sad that a lot of those instances were from peers, people who were ment to guide and help me

I resonate with this so much, in the last few years I lost so much of my confidence and its gotten to a point where I hate leaving my house alone, or having a convo with a stranger because I'm constantly so worried about what they will think of me. I used to be someone entirely unfazed by people's thoughts about me, and now I feel like I'm constantly trying to people please complete strangers and if they give me a dirty look or stare at me my whole day is basically ruined. I really want to just break this cycle because straight up I have to do so many things on my own on a daily basis, and this is not a way to live.

Whenever i get looks from people i always see it as people giving me dirty looks so i always try to do something different with how i act which makes me feel like i have to try so hard all the time while when i see my friends and other people be themselves in public noone gives them any looks and treats them normally which makes me think that im doing something wrong but i cant seem to understand what it is. I dont mind being neutral with people but it always feels like in public people just dont like me on sight and I find it hard to ignore that because then I will just live on with the fact that people dont like me so I always want to fix things as soon as possible with my self so I can reinforce the fact in my head that people see me as normal and it works sometimes but then when I remember instances when people stare at me I start worrying again and I cannot ever put my mind to rest. Dont know if anyone can relate but if you do say so because i dont know if anyone understands this situation im in.
