I wash after retie... i never banded nor braided and i had no slippage. I am 8 months in and they are doing great. My hair is fine, some thinning at the top. I notice when i get reties 2 1/2 to 3months in between reties, my crown area is thickening up nicely. 4 to 6 weeks is too soon for me. I make sure they are seperated and no locs grow into each other.

I use a microfiber towel it dry my have faster. I also wash the day before my retire. I am 5 month locked and LOVE it..

I wash my locs 2 or 3 days before my retie (but I don't do any workouts those days) I try and keep my braids in for a min of 2 days ..It works for me and the retie look is amazing

Have you tried salt water to help your locs get mature in the front? I’ve seen another KZbin video recommending that. I haven’t tried it (but I will). I get sisterlocs in June. Thank you for posting your videos.

I did try it for a couple of times but I wasn’t consistent 🤦🏾‍♀️
