It took me a week to comb out 100 locs. My locs were shoulder length. I tried it with the conditioner, and my hair was breaking off a lot, so I combed them out dry. My locs were oily, so it was easier for me to comb out. And my length is good..

I had 56 locs. I didn't like the size and had them in for 5 months. Used a loc tool to make them look mature. My hair was growing too quickly for me to keep up. I now have 56 twists which I will try to keep in for 2 months and wash in between without taking them out. Just here and there re-twist if need be. Trying to find an easier way to grow my hair. Having locs has taught me patience and to leave my hair alone.

Tonight, tonight I'll start...maybe. You have motivated me to comb out my 300 locs 😳 3/11/23 Edit: JUST FINISHED! A month a week or two and a hundred movies and season episodes.🥳🥳 I had a grocery bag of shedding. The locs at the top of my head were thinner as well and took 45 mins each to comb out (I had cut them evenly to my shoulders, but ended up cutting them shorter to boost my morale🤣) I found this craft pic at the dollar store and it saved my life. Imagine a metal dentist scraper but with a plastic handle--just as sharp, but didn't break like two metal tipped plastic rattail combs I started out with. I cut my locs to my shoulder, and my length stretches two inches past my shoulders. I also ended up washing it midway because my scalp was crying for mercy. All in all, I'll say it's was worth it.

I’ve been thinking about taking out mine. I am about to be 3 years locked next month lol my hair grew out a lot. I love my locks but to be honest, my locs were started with a triangle pattern and when i moved to another country, the hair dressers i found just couldn’t keep my triangle patterns. 2 years later, i noticed that person slowly changed my pattern and now i have irregular patterns. It’s ok but not what want.I was really disappointed… I didn’t noticed she changed my pattern until I noticed some square/rectangle partings in front … i was devastated.

Then with the Crotche’ needle they can be locked in. Oh when I took my braids out, after 10wks. very little hair came out. And yes I washed my scalp, 1 X. a week. And use warm oil on the scalp, Aloe Vera is very very good for Detangling. “Seven Minerals” maybe you can purchase on Amazon. Ok No one should Ever, ever,ever loose that much! Heeeelp!! Started my comb out journey but I am stuck on the first lock at a huge knot that I can't seem to get past. Using conditioner and wet hair but I am not getting anywhere just ripping my hair. Any advice please before I just cut them all off 😭
@Mrsbwhyte
@Mrsbwhyte Жыл бұрын
Ughhh. The Knots are the worst 😩. Deep conditioning my locs helped me when I got stuck. I used my hood conditioner. Soaked my hair and let the conditioner sit in my hair with a shower cap on for hours. That helped me break through. Have you tried that?

So I’m thinking about combing my locs out . I had an undercut and the barber cut into my loc which left a knot in a few at the back .do you think I Will be able to comb the loc out ?
@Mrsbwhyte
@Mrsbwhyte Жыл бұрын
Hmmm. Idk. I would maybe start by combing just one out just to see how it goes. Just remember to be very gentle especially in any areas where you feel knots. You’ll be tempted to try to yank through the knot. But use extra conditioner, get it really wet, and pick at it gently. It may take a while, but that’s the best way to preserve your hair and avoid any additional damage/breakage.

I’m 4c and unfortunately, I honestly can’t point to any one thing specifically. I took my time and was very gentle, which is why the process took soo long, so likely that helped with reducing breakage and retaining length. Hope that helps and Thanks for watching♥️

I was considering combing out my locs because it’s two that are thinning in the front. I’ve been 2 years loc. I’m afraid to comb them of because i’m afraid it’ll all fall out?? any suggestion for that?? comb them out and just be natural again??
@Mrsbwhyte
@Mrsbwhyte Жыл бұрын
Hey gorgeous, sorry for the late reply. I’d definitely consult a knowledgeable Loctitian. I think the most important thing is to understand why it’s thinning and work to correct that. I ignored my thinning (due to postpartum shedding) and eventually the entire loc just fell out. So whichever route would make it easier for you to get your hair healthy and strong is what I’d do. Your Loctitian should be able to point you in the right direction. Hope that helps. ♥️

When you grow locs you can't not control the size of how it's going to grow
@Mrsbwhyte
@Mrsbwhyte Жыл бұрын
Hi, and thanks for watching. 💕 The size of your part and density of your hair plays a role in the size. So you can get smaller parts for smaller locs. If i did it again, that’s the approach I’d take, especially in the middle where my hair is much thicker. It means, I’d have more locs, but the individual size of the locs would be smaller.
