Tom is a horrible piece of garbage *BUT* he did give Darcey one decent piece of advice in that scene. "Try not to ruin the next one", he's absolutely right about that. She does ruin her relationships by getting drunk and becoming overemotional and terrifyingly clingy, by creating unnecessary drama to force emotion out of her partner, and for someone who is already divorced with teenaged daughters she is uncomfortably obsessed with marriage. As I've seen on Darcey & Stacey, she picks at her romantic relationships like a pimple, refusing to leave it alone until its exploded and bound to leave scars.
