Honestly - I’m a Muslim but I don’t wear a scarf and I wouldn’t marry a guy that had that as a requirement . So it’s insane to me that this girl moved across the world to marry a guy that had those requirements. I personally don’t think you should marry someone you have to change so much for. A few things here and there - fine

@@Liyxahh yea that’s what I mean - I’m not going to wear it for a guy or because a guy is pushing me to wear it. It would have to be 100 percent my decision and the person should marry me not expecting me to change either - if he can accept I will move in my own timeline then fine. I think if he wants a wife that wears a hijab, he should marry one that already wears one definitely not someone who isn’t a Muslim to start and barely knows anything about Islam and they both expect each other to change and now see the mess they are in.

This was my point. She’s completely accepting his religion and views and values but he won’t accept hers. People give him way way too much credit imo it’s not cool to literally force someone else to adapt to all your personal beliefs or they will leave you. People with these rly strict religions need to either accept the person as they are or only date people who already have the same values. I’m not religious but I am spiritual and I do always way up how our lives would connect. Trying to change someone to 100 percent adapt to you and your beliefs all the time isn’t love.

I think something is seriously wrong with Nicole’s way of thinking. How does she honestly expect to move to Egypt but desires to live as if she’s in America. For her to be 38 years old she is lacking basic thinking skills. She obviously didn’t take the time to learn the basics cultural demands Muslims abide by. How could she have not did her research on what she was walking into. She’s going to Egypt to reside with her Egyptian husband and expects him to conform to her way of being instead of the other way around. Nicole you have stepped into your husband’s world therefore you must live as he lives or make your departure. The method of life you’re attempting to incorporate will not work because you will become a disgrace to his family. Sorry but there are basic cultural values you must follow or you will have serious problems. I don’t understand why women from America want to willing choose someone from a strict culture in comparison to their own. How can you possibly think your way will conquer the practice that has been in place forever. INSANE. If you truly live this man and want to live your life with him as his wife, I’m sorry to say but you must conform to the way he lives. You chose this it didn’t choose you. THINK ABOUT IT……

As someone who has lived and worked in Egypt for nearly a decade and plans to go back in time - I can say this may be more of a problem of Nicole not realizing - well a lot. Not all Egyptian women have to follow these rules. Socio-economically, religiously connected stringent beliefs become more prevalent in the lower economic strata. Not that it doesn't exist in the upper, but there you are more likely to see your everyday working woman, pants and a top, beautiful hair and make-up, beautiful clothes, and no head scarf. Nicole would have done better falling in with the foreign expats and finding an Egyptian guy through that crowd. As she said in one episode, all Egyptian bathrooms are like this. Um no, they are not. To be crude but honest - she met him working at the fabric market, so he doesn't have much money, and furthermore - she would struggle to find work or be in circles that many Egyptian women do find themselves in. What I am saying is that she has fallen into the poor hole, where religion is crazy strict, to the point of absurdity at times. In this life she would walk down to the local markets or take a tuk-tuk, husband permitting - and go back home. That's about it. Shit, it reminds me of old Iran. But living there can be so vastly different - even for Egyptian women. This man can't even afford to take her to dinner at the IHOP - yes there is an IHOP, IKEA, and H&M in Cairo, frequented by...... not dirt poor Egyptians.

Thank you! Nobody wants to say it but it’s the truth. Middle class and up women have far more options and the women on these shows rarely meet men in those circles because they don’t have access to that world as an outsider. So people watch these shows and stereotype a whole region and religion when this comes down to family culture and class. I have many Muslim friends who do not wear hijab, moms don’t either, and they are loyal to their faith.I’ve lived in North Africa and as a Orthodox Christian woman I can tell you we have the same kind of rules for rural women and wealthy women in Orthodox families are very free, but rural ones you can’t tell the difference from them and the women Nicole is around. @@fartemisfartmallow8647 Because women sacrifice themselves, their goals, their beliefs for men they love. It is our nature and also social conditioning. This is shown in evidence of scientific studies that women across all ages, faiths, races take care of their husbands when sick. While men are 6x more likely to leave their sick wives. It is incredibly important for women to have a God fearing husband who fufills his duties and responsibilities as a husband and human being because Islamically we know we are held accountable on Judgement Day. Without faith to keep men accountable, they are ruled by ego and desires. And society social conditioning allows men to be selfish without consequence, so it would harm a Muslim woman and their family if her husband tells her not to pray, convinces her to drink, and other sins. She would give up her faith for love. If a woman has a good Muslim husband he will encourage her to pray,be closer to God, abstain from sin. Muslims and traditional Orthodox Christians and Hebrew have the same commandments, faith and God so it wouldn't hurt a woman to have a believing husband. He would not force her to change and would respect her beliefs because that is what God commanded. A Muslim woman with Christian/Hebrew husband might have a husband who discourages her from praying 5 times a day because maybe they will tell her its not necessary. They might tell her its okay to drink once in a while, and other sins in Islam. By the way, I am not saying anyones faith is better than another. Its simply about upholding the Commandments sent from God to Abraham(AS), Moses(AS), Jesus(AS) and Muhammed(SAW) and all Prophets sent in between. As Muslims we believe God sent each scripture Torah to Moses(AS), Psalms to David (AS), Gospel to Jesus(AS), and finally Quran to Muhammad(SAW) to remind us of Gods mercy, love, teachings and Commandments. Out of Gods mercy he slowly introduced guidance to make it easier for us to adjust. So during the times of Abraham(AS) we prayed when we could. During the times of Moses(AS) and Jesus(AS), we were Commanded to pray three times a day. And it was ok to drink but not to the point of getting drunk. But men and women still had to cover their hair, abstain from eating swine. Even from Moses(AS) to Jesus(AS), there were new revelations revealed. Jesus(AS) taught that God now forbid usury which is interest on loans. During Muhammad(SAW) time God sent revelation to pray 5 times a day. and that alcohol is now prohibited. So for Muslims we see other Abrahamic faiths will follow our old scripture rules, and we follow the same with some new ones. We still highly respect and love Hebrew/Christian faith because we are the same People of the Book. But in order to follow the last Commandments of God we cannot practice old rules like 3 prayers, drinking, etc. So if a Muslim woman might go against her faith with a husband that allows drinking in their home. The same way a Christian woman marrys a Hebrew husband, and her husband takes out loans with interest, it causes them to sin and go against her faith. The purpose is to keep the home led by a husband who is God fearing and follows Commandments. Because women are more likely to give up ourselves for love, and she shouldn't be in a position to give up her faith. Its about keeping her empowered. I hope this makes sense.

Why is she torturing herself? Most relationships should not reach "I do". Why is he balding so much? Why does he say "higab"? If you call your spouse an AH. Just call it quits. The phaloplasty connection to the homunculus has to be different. Homunculus is formed from cell separation in the womb.

I do agree though with the whole trying to find something modest and the whole back is out. Like nowadays you can have a pantsuit with the back out or the sides out and I’m like pantsuits aren’t for the club so why? Or sweaters with the back out, like it is winter, why would I want my whole back to freeze? Or just trying to find a simple plain tshirt, le struggle

@Mark Newton idk when you get old enough you stop playing those games. What you said are magic words, that uttered together can cause people to change their minds. Like that's your intention right now. You think the fact she didn't like something so she said I don't want to have part of something that's going to make me feel bad, is a bad thing. Now you're even commenting on my post to try to change my opinion? Do you see the level of control you're trying to just take. You're the small minded one to think she must live in this lil box. Must follow your rules. Not showing hair was a man made thing and many women of that faith do it around the world. Why would anyone want to be controlled by you. Because they're not being controlled by any book, it's the people using that book as a tool to oppresse others. Small minded? She said she's a special person who's meant to be shown to the world, not hidden away. That hiding herself was the worst feeling ever. No religious person would ever say to do something that you think is bad. I question your intentions and I hope you also question why you've tried to control 2 strangers you've never met. What kind of person attempts that and find pleasure out of it. I'm sure you felt high and mighty attempting to shame others. Sad.

Lmfao. He don't give a fuck about her. He's a grown ass man who never been in a relationship before not wanting his own kind and trying to control a white woman from the richest country and he has no idea on how to act. I don't feel sorry for him.

She covers and dresses modestly, but I think it's her neediness, and clinginess, followed by her inability to adapt and want to learn more about her role as a woman in their society, that makes it impossible for her to live there. She wants his male friends to cater to her to make her feel at home, her expectations are just immature. If anything, she should be learning how to cook, helping the mother, trying to find other female friends, play with the kids, and try and maybe take Arabic classes while she's there. Instead, she sulks and argues, expecting her man to console her 24/7

Who prepares to move to another country with contrary views with such uncertainty? I knew something was wrong with Nicole’s thinking when she agreed to convert without researching the subject. Who does that? Mahmoud may seem odd to many but don’t forget he’s standing by his cultural beliefs in hopes of Nicole submitting. He may have thought it was easy for her to convert so anything else could possibly be easy as well. That’s just my thoughts. Bottom line, there is way too much controversy for peace to abide.
