Her performance of 'Flashdance' on Solid Gold is just a wonderful example of youthful excitement that came out in dance, an example that should be shown to all budding artists to either teach or inspire ... it still gets me up and about at the age of 54 :)

Its from 2004 so she would be about 45 here. or 43 as she would say cause she did like to knock a couple of years off her age!

When was this interview? She doesn't look a day over 40. The reference of the Dixie Chicks probably indicates late 1990s to early 2000s which was their peak. First time I saw this and its a good one !

she was such a huge talent. her music career didnt take off like it deserved to. she is in that elite club of artists who have had TWO major film theme songs. Flashdance & Fame. Theres Kenny loggins(Footloose, Top gun) & Jennifer warnes(Dirty dancing, Officer & gentleman). You only need one iconic classic song for everybody to remember you. Irene has two. Plus theyre both very anthemic.

I remember going to opening night to the screening of Fame and I was so impressed with her multi talented character like it WAS YESTERDAY incredible how time has passed by so fast like if I pressed fast forward. I was in my teens when Fame the movie premiered and today I'm 56.I miss those days. The sun shined brighter the grasses were greener there was places in Miami still left to be discovered and you could actually go for walks alone for miles without having anyone near by. Now it's an overcrowded rat race where one is under constant surveillance. I don't have space to change my mind.No matter where you go in this city you can rest assured you won't be alone. No privacy.if only there was a way to go baçk and appreciate everything I took for granted, I wouldn't think twice. 5:52
