Thanks for the share! Our community needs all these kinds of ideas to keep our cars updated and on the road. With these cars not having classic value in the same category as classic Ferrari's and Porsche's owners of these cars tend to not be rich but are genuine enthusiast in loving these cars. DIY's like this is very inspiring, helpful and will indeed extend the life and love of the Prelude (especially the 3rd Gen Prelude)

Yay!!! My lude runs again... Time to get that ECU chipped and tuned to see what we can pull out of the stock bottom with stock GSR head.

is there any negative handling impact to having the motor leaning forward like that vs how the stock motors leaned backwards (presumably just to clear the low hood line) ? my first real car was an 88 2.0Si 4WS and I'd been prepping to build a B20A/VTEC but ended up switching to an S2k. If I ever see an 88 white 2.0Si 4WS clean shell I'd love to take time and build it up to kind of an OEM+ type of project with sort of the best Honda-ish technology that could have been used at the time... or say screw it and stuff a K20 in there with a modified hood.

I couldn't detect any difference in handling. K Swap kit may be coming sometime next year.

Loving the vids! I'm thinking of either doing a b20b swap or h22 swap. According to forums it's advised to just do a h22 cause it will come out to cost about the same. Since u have done both, would u agree? I would prefer to go with a b20b if its saves me quite a bit also because I read that h22 swaps can't sit low with good ground clearance.
@Prelude3g4 жыл бұрын
The B-series stuff also has reduced ground clearance so it's a toss up in that respect. I prefer the H22 or H23 simply due to the increased torque. You can get the 1funryd traction bar with the skid bar option and the ground clearance issue is less of a concern.

What harness are you using? I’m ordering my mounts for my ls-v swap in my third gen tomorrow. Just curious about the wiring.

What coilovers are on this prelude? Also is there any way coilovers from other Honda models of any year that can be configured with changing control arms axles etc... ???? I want to lower my Prelude 2.0Si as well as adjusting my camber for a little bit more of an aggressive stance over my capabilities right now with stock suspension?
@Prelude3g5 жыл бұрын
No coilovers at the moment, but there is a set of KSports waiting to go on sometime. You will have to use coilovers made for 3g Preludes. If you want some KSports email 1FunRyd, he is a dealer: 1funryd@comcast.net The upper control arms already have camber adjustment and you can increase the slots in them if you need more.

The vtec head...

How does it drive compared to the h22? The b20 seems to sit more forward than the h22, does it have any effect on handling?
@seantydingco5 жыл бұрын
I can tell you driving it with a stock B20b you still have the torque that our motors are known for and it was a reliable daily driver. 1. The big difference in going with this swap is that first you have way more aftermarket support for just the B-Series alone. You saw in the video when you get all the right parts, its pretty much straight forward vtec swap. 2. If you want to just go turbo on the B20b without vtec then you have way more options for that as well. In comparison to the H22 swap the H22 costs a little more roughly about $420 more due to needing to get a traction bar and skid bar to protect they bottem end. Now power wise the H22 is definitely pure pleasure straight out of the box with no modding. But then you can add more things to it to get even more power. I had my H22/23 for 10 years and loved it. But had to sell it in order to complete this swap as well as for some hard times. My goal was to show the entire community what I support @ www.1funryd.com - because we really do not have hardly any options to keep up the Bastard B motors and trannys. Handling wise there is no difference that I can tell and that is with some modified fork up front with KYB AGX adjustable shocks and stock rear shocks. The coils were cut one spring to give it a little better stance, but I got some junked Ksports for 3rd gens that I found on facebook/marketplace locally. I will be replacing the shocks and then install them on this car in the near future. I am the guy who worked with KsportUSA to make the Kontrol Pro kit for our cars in 2007, here is the original thread on preludepower - www.preludepower.com/forums/showthread.php?t=272638.
