What a win getting that on first guess! Would have been awesome to win all of that back then.

Juicy Fruit itself might not be moving me today, but that jingle is going to be stuck in my head all day...

Seeing salute your shorts makes me kinda sad now since the actor who played ugh (the counsellor) passed away not too long ago. It's mainly the theme song that does it.

I like that Heidi Lucas has participated in a reunion. For years she sort of avoided it all it while becoming a lawyer.

I remember hearing about that. R.I.P. Kirk Bailey. I had heard that personality wise in real life he was a lot like “Fun Ug” during the “Upside Down Weekend” episode.

7. Snick Intro- I love the feel and the atmosphere of this introduction to Snick. Not only does it build excitement for the lineup of shows about to be shown, but the environment has the potential to be a setting for a kid friendly horror movie. Scram Ball- This game looks like a glorified version of the classic playground game of Dodgeball. Blockbuster- I like how the old lady’s expression at 15:07 looks like a cross between having fun getting pulled across the street on the skateboard and not being sure what to make of this situation.

I remember these commercials vividly since my TV stayed heavy on Nickelodeon in my room on Saturday nights during SNICK. Great set. On a side note we have a young Jason Weaver in the Golden Grahams commercial.

There's something about seeing those Snick promos but also knowing i don't have school tomorrow that just hits different. it's nice.

I love Salute Your Shorts, Ren And Stimpy, and “Are You Afraid Of The Dark?”. Great old shows. I remember these old shows, ads, and bumpers. I feel so old.

I feel the same way about that Slime Time contest the first one felt like it was all predetermined from the beginning! But the Super Stinkers Water Gun was one thing that could have only existed in the 90s!

I had a Game Gear for a while. My Dad got me one when we were going to drive to Florida for Spring Break. The thing was nice and all, but it chugged batteries like a stereotypical frat boy chugs beer. I held onto it, but mainly played my Game Boy for portable gaming.

That 10-K commercial..All I can think about is how much is that Mom spending on gas to drive that kid around to five sports events and practices on random days?
@kampaclassic Жыл бұрын
I don't think that Slime Time was pre determined but it was a pretty high likelihood of getting a correct box. When the guy can't find Ren it shows that 4 of the 8 boxes contain a correct answer and they get two guess so that is a bit higher than an 80% chance of choosing correctly.

For how much it seems to have been advertised, I have absolutely zero memory of that 10-K juice - the ads or the product. I'm wondering if it just wasn't available everywhere in the States, so some places never saw the ads.
@80sCommercialVault Жыл бұрын
Possibly only available on the east coast. I’m from CA and don’t remember it being advertised either.
@DanZero77 Жыл бұрын
@@80sCommercialVault 10-K definitely was a thing in the New York area in the early 90s. Many of the commercials compared it to Gatorade and they said it was preferred in taste testing over Gatorade as well as having more vitamins and minerals.
@80sCommercialVault Жыл бұрын
I don't doubt it, I think Nickelodeon probably played a lot of different ads on their East Coast/West Coast feeds. As somebody who was probably watching every single one of these Snick broadcasts on the night they aired, it's sort of like peering into a parallel universe.

Oh I remember the old 10-K ads and I grew up in California.

15:18 - I never rented games from Blockbuster, because my local grocery store had a bigger selection than Blockbuster did in their video section. Stop lying, kid.
