Wow 😮 what a trip back down memory lane!!! I had this dyno GT back in the day but I had three blade GT rims on mine!!😎👍🏾👍🏾

Thanks! Yea, this project has been a trip back for me too! I was looking for some of the fan blades, but I couldn't find any at the time so I went with these Peregrine Masters. These bikes sure can take you back to the good ol' days!

Nice bike. I just came up on a 1998 GT Pro Performer. All original too. It’s got the elusive Pac-Man front forks, GT vert handlebars with 990’s and Dia-Compe 77 🇯🇵 levers. These bikes are definitely keepers. Great video 👍

hillbilly i got a funny story for you and your going to like it. when i was 12 or 13 not sure which i got a black and gray dyno vfr. yes im the same age and we rode the same bike as kids. i recently got to thinking about my old dyno and want to get another one. i have been looking for the same vfr but i remember wanting an air, detour, or compe due to the gyro when i was a kid. i want to get a dyno just to mess around with to take me back to the good ol days. that is a sweet bike and im glad you saved it from the trash. if you wanna sell it lmk lol. ive located an old 97 air thats the red and black splash. it needs a little bit of love. handlebars are rusty and the front forks have a bit of rust on the chrome. im debating whether to get it or not as i havent made up my mind yet tbh. i remember really liking the compe and air back in the day. ive been bitten by the dyno bug and im def going to get something. ive looked at haro, redline, and elf as well. they dyno though holds a special place in my heart. if i could find the bike we rode as kids id buy it in an instant. great vid and i really enjoyed your story as mine is exactly the same lol. if you ever decide to sell it please lmk as it will be well looked after.

That bmx looks good. I was about to ask what u used to remove surface rust however u answered my question. I have a chrome haro that I will be soaking in citric acid powder just as soon as I am done with my coffee. Surface rust is not that bad however I am concerned with internal rust by the seatstay/chainstay .

Looks good! How do you know it is 90's? Is there a way to tell on the frame, other than Serial Number?
@HillbillyNitroUSA3 жыл бұрын
Serial number on the bottom of the frame.

All she needs needs is a Dyno neck , still a sick bike regardless, reminds me of when I was coming up back in the 80s and early 90s I had a chrome huffy lol and thought I was the shit untill I seen a GT Dyno.

@HillbillyNitroUSA4 жыл бұрын
@@killakicks Sounds nice! Yea, they are really going up in value nowadays. A lot of people are getting back into vintage BMX over the last few years. This whole CV virus 🦠 thing has seemed to spark even more people building bikes. It’s all about supply & demand. There is a limited supply of these vintage 1980-90’s bikes. All of the 1980’s BMX bikes are fetching a premium right now!

@HillbillyNitroUSA5 жыл бұрын
Thanks!👍 No, I don't know anyone trying to sell any bikes at the moment, but maybe you could try eBay or some of the GT/Dyno groups on facebook.? I see these bikes and/ or bike frames & parts pop up for sale in the FB groups I'm a member of all the time. You should definitely try eBay. You will have a better chance of finding exactly what you are looking for there. Good luck on your search! I hope you find one. 👍👊
