So much more style, boldness, colour and eccentricity, feels like a celebration of creativity really. I was born in 91, so my memories of the 90s are from an early age which i think was the best time to see it all, because it leaves more of a print on your brain, it's it's idyllic to think back as is the case with nostalgia. I'm a photographer, I've always been a nostalgic person but only in the last few years have i started to get really interested in the visuals of the 90s, so many wide angles! The visuals back then definitely have contributed to my photography style. The 90s was like the perfect level of chaos, so many different styles popping up and meshing together. Seeing adverts from back then is the best example of that because they're like quick samples, you can see each director's different visual style, it's creativity bursting at it's seams! Maybe the internet had something to do with that, because the 80s wasn't as bold and edgy, nor was any other era. I feel lucky to have been a kid in such a time where we were on the brink of the future and advancements but a time when humanity and creativity was still very much alive in the mainstream! I think compilations like this are such a good source of inspiration for any artist of any kind, if you're feeling like you've hit a wall, watch some 90s adverts! Sadly, It seems like adverts today have to go through some of of meat mincer before it reaches the TV, it's all really samey. The same can be said about films, where's the individuality gone?

Haha the first advert I watched was a 2023 youtube advert. Was very confused why they had thin tablets in 1990s

27:56 - Ryan Stiles is the ardent man in the KFC advert. He's Canadian, from the Second City improv theatre in Toronto, Canada. His fellow "Whose Line..." cast member, Colin Mochrie, was in Toronto's Second City too.

I loved Cadbury Time Out. And it was my favourite in the tin of Cadbury Heroes at Christmas. Stupidly replaced by the horrible Time Out Wafer which I bought only once and will never buy again.
