900 Ace Turbo & Turbo R - Fuel Filters Maintenance Tip

Here is a very important maintenance recommendation for your 900 ACE Turbo and Turbo R. No matter if it's modified or stock, you must inspect and replace, if necessary, the fuel filters which have a tendency to get clogged with plastic particles from the gas tank factory manufacturing.

2019 900 Ace I have had to change out the filters with less 5000 miles. Same results black plastic fibers. Skidoo really needs to clean these tanks before assembly.

Same with sidewinder. Changed filters in two of them last season and both full of plastic

10000 miles now on my sidewinder, never changed the filter, still works

The fuel pump on my 900 ACE failed (low fuel pressure) after about 220 hours of use over three years. I don't know why as the dealer replaced the assembly, but a over heating pump was blamed. Could this be to a dirty sock fuel filter?

Just had mine changed yesterday after I broke down!! Both filter were plugged up solid 2500 miles...all plastic pieces...

I just had this problem on a 2019 Grand Touring Limited 600R. Both filters plugged and fuel pump over heating. 3500 miles.

I get roughly 1000km before machine acts up slow down and sputtering.Each time filter totally plugged.Absolutely no help from BRP they dont see it ass an issue as with every issue with thier sleds.I have replaced 2 pumps now and both filters last time. I only have 3500 km on my machine.I have to say i had a 600 etec WT after 10k km you best to throw it away maintenance nightmare.Lot same issues with that one 3 fuel pumps.

Yup you need the tank off to remove the fuel pump which has the sock filter inside

Does this clear out after awhile? How long does it take?

Is there a model / year range affected? just turbos? do they have different tanks assuming that it's coming from the molding process of the tanks?
