I'm a fan of the original 900 Global Solid Xponent. This ball is very versatile with a controlled core/cover combination that makes it a benchmark ball in my bag. However, when this ball starts to go too early I can't always get to a place on the lane to get the correct motion. This is where the Xponent Pearl enters the scene.
With it's Shrapnel 2.0 Symmetric core surrounded by the Pearl 702 cover, this ball is much cleaner than the solid with a little more motion downlane than I expected. In 14 pounds this has a low RG of 2.49 but a medium differential value of 0.042. I have these two ball drilled identically at 4 x 4 1/4 x 3 1/2.
The pearl Xponent is the perfect compliment to the solid, with more length that keeps it from slowing down too early when the solid wants to slow down early. I can easily make a small move in and go right to this ball off the solid Xponent. I look forward to using these two balls in tandem on the PBA50 Tour this season.
