If Portugal somehow played with another striker to take away from such vigorous marking on a single striker, that would make CR much more dangerous. This was the problem at the Euro, not that necessarily CR played bad, it’s just hard for a sole striker to score against such defensive teams that were in the Euros

That would make the game a lot more dynamic and attacking prone, considering Portugals strengths in the wings and another potential striker up top I’d say it’s a good thing, lose a bit more control (which they had plenty of in the euros but to no effectiveness) and gain more strengths up top and at the wings.

Craig Burley is clueless. Football is all about numbers. How many goals did you score, how many games did you win. Ronaldo's 900 goals is the greatest achievement in football ever. Greater than winning a world cup. Anybody can win the WC, even a bang average player, if he plays on the "right" team. Even a frank Leboeuf has won a WC. Aside from his very well taken goal, Ronaldo looked very sharp and had an excellent all around performance. Cynics, trolls, and pundits will inevitably continue to find fault in every little thing he does. But Ronaldo legitimately plays like a man who’s a decade younger than his actual age of 39.
