Cool. I learned how to fly trikes back in the 90s.
@johnallright6847 Жыл бұрын
Yea me too in late 80s but we were taught not to fly in valleys and low altitude places in case of engine out scenario, it did happen a lot then with toothed drive belts. Hope you had fun like me flying all Northern England and Scottish Borders and into Wales for regular overnight events and fly ins.

Anthony Dunster great hear from you. Which part of Utah do you live and what kind of aircraft do you fly ?
@ElectricTechAdventures5 жыл бұрын
@@HenryGyroLife I live at the south end of the Salt Lake City valley, but I'm willing to drive elsewhere in the state potentially of course. I don't currently have my own aircraft, so what I meant was riding in your back seat that is often empty in your videos. :) However I hope to someday be able to get a trike like yours. I've flown in two small airplanes before (a 2 and a 4 seater), so I generally know what a small aircraft is like, but those have enclosed cockpits so pretty different from a trike.
@HenryGyroLife5 жыл бұрын
Anthony Dunster unfortunately, I don’t take any passenger when I fly unfamiliar places. There is a limit of small aircraft if it encounters unexpected turbulence or any other unwanted local weather.

In this video since you were flying over 11, 000 feet high did you have an oxygen mask on at all during the flight ?
@HenryGyroLife4 жыл бұрын
Bob Shaw yes, I used a small aviation oxygen tank and tubes for the flight I climbed to 16,000 feet.
@bobshaw40634 жыл бұрын
@@HenryGyroLife WOW ! were you able to breathe OK with oxygen flying so high ? Was it scary @ 16,000 feet ? How long have you been flying ? What is the longest flight & the highest altitude you have flown ? Have you flown your new Gyro yet ?

Hello Henry, do you trailer your trike to those different places or do you fly cross country refueling at airports and spending the night in hotels? Also, what is your average crusing speed?
@HenryGyroLife2 жыл бұрын
Hi Scott, I trailered my trike behind my RV to the most of places you see in the video. My crushing speed is around 65mph. Trike is not for long cross country flight. Very few people do that.

Well, Henry, that compilation was quite simply STUNNING!!! Do you need to have a medical to fly gyros in the USA or is it considered a Microlight? (sorry ultralight)?
@HenryGyroLife5 жыл бұрын
David Cornwell it is the same with my trike. I can fly it with my sport pilot license, which does not require 3rd class medical certification.
@flybe1465 жыл бұрын
@@HenryGyroLife Great thanks Henry I hope that will be the same over here in England too.
@HenryGyroLife5 жыл бұрын
David Cornwell so, you need a private license for gyro ?
@flybe1465 жыл бұрын
@@HenryGyroLife Yes you do need a National Private Pilots licence that is only valid in the UK to fly a Gyro and a self- declaration medical that you have to make to the Civil Aviation Authority - I think Henry
@HenryGyroLife5 жыл бұрын
@@flybe146 We just need a gyro endorsement on sport pilot license. This can be done with some training with one instructor and checkride with another instructor. no paper test.

@@HenryGyroLife - the trike's body itself looks very similar to a Gyroplane. Could it be converted into a Gyroplane by substituting that wing with a rotor? I'm asking because I also see that newer-generation nanolight trikes are even more lightweight & attractively portable, and can even run on 2-stroke engines: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nqDSdIygl8-KrLs Since their even lighter weight can mean less stability against turbulence, I was then wondering if such portable nanolight trikes can be converted into gyroplanes, in order to have the better stability against turbulence. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpeco4KQp7N_j7M I've also heard that vibration is typically less on lighter gyros as compared to heavier gyros, and can be more easily damped.
