That 5/10 makes me happy lol! The feel me and my sister wanted to get from this remake (I guess I should rename them to Reimagined) was to make it feel and look like an Abandoned, Old Aperture Warehouse (I was recently laid off of my Warehouse job right before starting this map, so that's where the inspiration came from) I wanted the player to feel like they've just got done a 12 hour Warehouse shift (Which was my Shift, 9 to 9:30 Everyday, but the player is lucky, they only need to work 1 shift lol) So the rating of 5/10 means I succeeded with giving you that warehouse shift feel lol. Those faith-plates on the floor were my sister's idea, I was confused at first, but then I noticed how much SMARTER my sister was, they fit so well and can be used to make the long walk (which is what you have to do in a warehouse job) a lot quicker. That laser field in the first room was just to prevent the player and/or the cube to be retrieved from that way. Which btw, you completed both rooms 100% the intended way. My sister brought over 18 friends total to try and break this map, 10 of them play Portal 2 alot, and so far not a single person has been self locked and/or broke the map, which I MUST say is impressive for me and my sister This map was my favorite to do out of the bunch (Swish And Flick was my 2nd favorite) As you can see from the original map, those ideas were there, getting the cube from the funnel, the laser "Puzzles" The Sphere going through its own area (Reimagined in the newer one) The ONLY thing that wasn't in the original was the FEEL... All the original map was is a puzzle in an old aperture setting, but the newer one actually HAS a theme. I'm truly proud of this one, the ONLY thing I wash I could improve on was those wires, (Which sadly I had no control of since in that theme, they don't show as lasers, but just wires, but as you can see, they were laid out very well in this one) I feel like Overgrown is just messy to begin with, while the old aperture theme is more, "industrial" making it easier to take in the environment. The next one on your list should be "The Great Funnel Chamber" (I'm aware you've already played through all these maps by the time I post this comment) Even though it's far down on my list of favorites, with Overgrown Momentum being my least favorite, I felt like The Great Funnel Chamber came out great (ESSPECIALLY if you compare it to the original) Can't wait to see those I MAY or MAY NOT be working on a Christmas map, if I finish it, it'll be up to you if you want to play it or not, I may not even finish it before the 25th... Perhaps I can get it done before 2025 lol Keep it up! 👍

1:20 - "Does this dangerous red sparkly laser thing kill me?" Questions one could deem silly if it wasn't for Portal: After Hours  2:43 - This is why playtesting and feedback is so important. It's the type of layout and design that only really feels right in the designer's head, since we "see" the entire puzzle in our heads at once. But a playtester is forced to engage with the level's layout and communication of elements and connections, which is a type of feedback a designer can't possibly expect to have just by themselves (they can get better at it though, but nothing replaces good ol' user feedback) 10:59 - "Haven't seen [a ball] in forever" 😏😏😏 13:19 - The ever-increasing saturation lmao 30:26 - To me personally, this feels like a beginner's puzzle. Not in a bad way, just in its construction. The elements generally serve one purpose, and the player is only ever expected to do one thing: the obvious next step. In the case of this map, the next step is obfuscated by many layers of connections and stylized elements, but it generally boils down to pressing a sequence of buttons until you get a resource, which then unlocks the next sequence of buttons for the next resource. Notice how you never do anything particularly interesting with either the funnels or the lasers, they're there just to connect you from point A to point B. These puzzles lack a central catch, an "a-ha moment" that ties them together into a neat self-contained exploration of an idea. 34:21 - It sorta takes on some of the elements of the original, but makes effectively new puzzles involving them Here's to hoping the next puzzle will be a little clearer in its construction 🤞

2:43 Yes exactly, thats how i felt as i was trying to navigate both rooms! Explained much better than i could :p 13:19 When i got that part in the video while editing, i saved, DaVinci Resolve decided to freeze but not crash. So random saturation appeared and i could not get it to go away lol All i could think about was "Yep im getting a timestamp for that" Im happy to report the next two are much better! (Mostly)

Wow, is this all beemod style or are there extra UCPs used? All the wiring under the glass floor looks cool

Yes, mostly beemod. Some of the styles have special assets for the items, for this old aperture style, the laser stuff, funnel stuff, most of the cubes, and signage are all made assets for the said style.

@ I figured as much, but I haven’t messed with styles other than ‘clean’ very much. Do you do any hammer work?

I used to. Bot E Sheila, AiDOS Labs, And Subject X Reconstructed had hammer work in them. I do plan on using hammer again, but for right now I'm still working on Bendy's Testing Adventure using Beemod. Once I finish that, then I'll consider using hammer again.

@@GamerXD54_Socal wow, kudos to you! I am not smart enough/don’t have the time to learn hammer atm. I tried once. Haha, cool to see your remakes and 8-year-old originals featured on this channel!
