It will be nice once you all are done. When we did ours we set on those concrete stones but we used the post protector product to add life to the posts, plus they add uplift protection. I ordered our barn from DIY Barns and it was an option, but I think you can get them at Home Depot. However, if your building is going up tomorrow you're too late, it will go up very fast, especially in this wonderful weather lately. We built in December because our initial contractor kept delaying with other people's jobs for 2 months after we had already had the building supplies delivered. We finally gave up on them and found Rock Steady Builders out of Ohio who ended up saving us and getting it up, and given the weather and soil conditions they did an awesome job. Never build in December (at least in the OH/PA/WV area), it was a MESS. However, the end result was awesome, I really love the barn. I can't wait to see your progress. Have a great weekend Morgans! :)

I knew Mike had to be impressed with all of Matthew's delivery skills, and how most of us probably feel when Mike is operating pretty much anything. Very nice heart felt thank you for the professional delivery, and would have happened with a camera going or not...good people are good people. There really is no substitutions for integrity, highly skilled professionalism and genuinely good people! Have a Day, Morgan Family!

I was super impressed when that little Moffit picked the truss load, then he shuttled them sideways and I couldn't believe it. Nice job complimenting the driver, we all enjoy affirmation when we do a good job, it builds confidence and makes us proud of our labor. Well done.
@evilbrat53764 жыл бұрын
Okay, truth time. That Moffit is one heck of a machine. The operator is a good one also. What caught my eye was that he could "Crab" with it. Gobsmacked me it did. To Crab...move sideways with a load. Impressive as all get out. Waiting till tomorrow when the "Crew" arrives and starts in. A new beginning for y'all with this.. Darn, Archie has really GROWN an Hunter seems really at ease with all going on. That is great to see. Hae a day abd catch ya's tomorrow.

Mike - a few things to consider if you have not already thought of them. Consider some 220 outlets in the garage and add a center drain the length of the larger part of the building or an area where you can power wash the equipment. You will love it in the winter to wash off the salt or sand.

Welcome back. Can't wait to see the build. Driver did a great job. Put the material on the gravel and organized it for the builder. Love how he put the trusses at the gable end. Saves so much labor for the crew. Okay, enough of that. I guess the round pads are the way to go. No mixer mayhem.

Before I retired this past May, I spent 45 years building post frame buildings. They are a very good value for the money. In recent years, I've seen an increase in post frame buildings being built for single family homes in my area of central Missouri. Can't wait to see the finished building. On another note Mike, I almost held my breath while you were pulling the post next to the box column. I've see some rather unfortunate accidents and some very close calls using a strap to pull posts while backing up. Once those hind tires come off the ground and the post turns lose, who knows where that thing will end up. That Kubota would resemble a unicorn with a post sticking out of the radiator!

Mike, as a truck driver I would REALLY have loved to see footage of that tractor trailer make the turn into your driveway off the two-lane rural road. I'm sure they'll have to do a MAJOR "buttonhook". OR NOT; backing in made a ton more sense because of their need to use the moffitt.

Personnally I wouldn't put post in the ground even with pressure treated. It will eventually rot off, just like your pillar. I don't know what type of insulation you will be using but if its spray foam make sure they put on housewrap before the metal. If they don't its can cause oil canning of the metal and makes it extremely difficult to replace any metal panels in the future if you need to. Are you going to setup a time lapse camera for the build?

Mike I've been doing garage doors for many years. I'm sure you are going to want insulated doors. I don't no you're area we'll but go with a reputable company. Overhead door is probably the best. They are the original the first invented the garage door since 1921. Just thought I would through that out their. Thanks for the video Mike and Melisa.

when in doubt ... just push it over and take it to the burn pile ... btw, how much did you save by developing the pad for the new building yourself instead of the GC? ... I love the smell of wood construction, always have ... the team will show up and have the structure up in a few days with it dried in in a few more days ... are you going to have a topping out ceremony? ... I have special place in my soul for construction workers ... a part of the brotherhood for life ... lastly thanks for sharing the experience with others ... that's what makes this channel so special
