COOL!!! You're playing "REM-What's The Frequency Kenneth" in the backround!!! I have the "REM" album "Monster" on ORIGINAL vinyl, NOT a reissue. I bought a lot of those 90's LP's when they came out. My friends thought I was crazy at the time because CD's were in full swing and vinyl was "dead" to them. NOT TO ME!!....Some of those LP's on vinyl I bought in the 90's were: Soundgarden-Super Unknown on Blue vinyl/Nirvana-Live From NY-MTV on White vinyl/Nirvana-Nevermind on Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab/Green Day-Insomniac/Tripping Daisy-I'm An Elastic Firecracker/Mathew Sweet-100% Fun/ Mathew Sweet-Blue Sky On Mars/Led Zeppelin-6 LP Box Set/Alice In Chains-Jar Of Flies and Ramones-Adios Amigos just to name a few. I still got 'em all and I'm glad I bought them in a world that was blinded by digital! I have the last laugh!! :):)

Yes the 1990s records are a rare. It was the Dark Age of Vinyl. I remember Tower Records had a small selection in the back of records! I started buying Coil Records in the late 90s. Vinyl was mainly bought by the folks who liked underground music like punk, industrial, and extreme metal.

I'd like a few minutes alone with that collection, a large cloth bag, and no questions asked as I creep out of the building with said bag looking suspiciously heavy.

$59 for that fucking Creed record? Yeah... good luck with that. Also, most of these are repressings. Most aren't worth the vinyl they're pressed on.
@dougsworld75336 жыл бұрын
This is why I quit going to record shops .... they are asking like $60 for re-pressing's I can buy on Amazon for $20. I went to a place today and they were asking $80 for an old beat up copy of Pink Floyd's The Wall .... lol

Honestly I just got into Vinyl. I like to support the local guy as much as the next. But I'm not gonna go broke supporting them when I can get the same thing cheaper elsewhere. I went to a record store for the first time and was turned off by the high prices.

Considering some of the damage 33 RPM has shown on his channel to sealed records that were badly warped or had internal gatefolds destroyed by original shrink wrap compressing them I'd consider vinyl what was kept sealed for that long with no promise of condition completely worthless. It's a total crapshoot as whether being kept in shrink long-term damaged it or not.

I think you're under-estimating the value of quite a few of these. There are an insane amount of triple-figure records in the '90s box. The Stones records are all reissues and not worth that much compared to the Tori Amos and Springsteen titles.

I believe MFSL went under and sold when they knew multi-tracks would eventually be remixed, excelling in audio of a (used) "master" tape! In an "analog" world, your "mixes" have to be stored on another (noisy) tape, not so in a digital world. Just my two cents! :-)

90's music on vinyl is just as much a novelty as Taylor Swift on Vinyl. It was the era of the Compact Disc and so shall it forever be.

Born in the 60's I've been a buyer since I was real young. And the 1990's is my personal favourite decade. There was variety like never before. Many new styles of music appeared, grunge, techno, trip hop, progressive metal, Drum n Bass, Big Beat, Dub step, two step, ragga, need I go on.
@gokhanozmen10516 жыл бұрын
Hip Hop was living it's golden years. There were so many unique rock bands, even pop was good. It can't be the worst decade at all.

i was born in the 60s too and i thought ninties music was pretty lame.....grunge wasnt a new style i saw bands playing pretty much the exact same style in the mid 80s,sludgy underground rock, grunge was just coined by the media and record companies to try to create a hype in order to sell CDs all the others you mention apart from progressive metal(which is just a joke) are all variants of the same thing, there was much more variety and better music in the 70s and 80s...compare punk to grunge, there were hundreds of punk bands in 1977 all over the world...grunge was just a handfull of bands of which only a couple were any good.
