Bishop makes so much sense now. Every pinoy growing up in the 80s had some bad ass tito with a mullet.

This guy has so much talent. To me more so than Silvestri and Campbell, and a few others who started out during the Jim Lee era... and I don't know what happened but I heard he dealt with some personal family issues during the highlight of his career and it was the reason why Wetworks was always late. But Whilce deserves a lot more credit than he's been given.

Silvestri started well before Lee.

Yes, his sister died as they were forming Image. Whilce put his family first. Also, he is diabetic and that creates challenges for him working long hours and his energy and his general health that at times slowed him down a lot,. But he is one of the top creators ever to draw for Marvel….

I bought a new VCR back in the day to be able to play those videos of the Image guys. This was the only videos available showing how they really were and how comics are made. And Whilce was amazing and I loved his books and art. Unfortunately he was not able to jump the train like the others did because of a death in the family. Whilce rocks!

Marc Silvestri comic book greats? The greatest of all the Image artists may have been Marc Silvestri. It took me a while to really realize it though because he's so good you never notice him.

Marc Silvestri is definitely one of the comic book greats. They can all draw(although, people have had their criticisms about Rob Liefeld's drawing style and abilities)but personally, I always felt like Jim Lee was the best artist out of the seven founders of Image.

Silvestri was probably the best straight up artist of the group at the time.

Wasn't Marc doing comics much longer than the others? He pioneered a more modern style.

Portacio is a super fancy artist. His work is different from everybody else but the thing is drawing like he does takes time and pain so doing it consistently was tough for him. If he had to do it every month it would not be that good. I seen some of his art at the end of his X-factor run and it was not nearly as good as when he started the X-factor run just sayin. Same thing for his Uncanny run. If you give him time and less time constraints that's when his work is right up there with George Perez as a fan of fine comic art. 😎

Thank God the Internet wasn't around during the 60s when Stan, Jack and co were creating Marvel comics. Female heroes? Black heroes? The X-Men being a very thinly veiled analogy for the civil rights movement? Captain America punching Nazis (without even accepting there may be 'good people on both sides')? Can you imagine the incel testosterbros bleating and wetting themselves about wokeness back then? Jack Kirby would have knocked you on your pasty asses.
