91 f250 351w efi True Dual STRAIGHT PIPES

All these dudes with the 351 powered F250, meanwhile I'm over hear with a murdered out 89 E250 with the 351 windsor. I've had it for 2.5 years and it's been a daily and a project, in that order. Within the next two years I'll finally be able to sink some real money into it. I'm talking about a modernized RWD muscle van with a *rebuilt* 351 windsor making 600hp on a low mount single turbo build. The trickiest part is figuring out what needs to be done to give the engine bay enough room for shorty headers.

@JIcaseman Nope theres not, to do a true dual system like mine u hav to cut the cat off, if u left it on there u would hav to run just one pipe back behind the cat to a y-pipe and then dual tailpipes which really doesnt sound good unless mby u gutted the cat. @idiforddiesel amen. i cant kill that motor i maintain it properly and give it hell all the time and its never skipped a beat and doesnt tick any or make wierd noises. My buddy will have my 5x22in(!) tips done soon and i will put those on and make a video. Hopefully i can position the camera for better sound this time. Thanks for the comment.

Sounds great man I got a 351w in my 95 but I switched over to a 4 barrel and took the efi out and it’s dumped under the cab with no cats or nothing and long tube headers

@dixiemudnut thats because its not tuned for your engine, if you got tuned straight pipe your mileage, torque, and hp would go up : )

@idiforddiesel it depends where u live, but so far ive had zero run-ins with the law somehow, u just gta be a lil cautious with the gas and be mature about it..im 19 and ive had that setup but with bigger tips for awhile now and no problems

@dixiemudnut well no, but i wasn't talking about a tuned chip, i was talking about tuned exhuast pipe length, the reason you lost power is because the exhuast pulses are out of sync with your engine, it should be as a pulse is leaving the tail pipe a cylinder opens its exhuast valve pushing the exhuast gases into the manifold, but at the same time the pulse that was leaving the pipe created a small vaume which pulls the gases out of the cylinder at the same time, if tuned you get a lot of pwer

i did not have to trim the fenders at all to make them clear. the truck does have a minor 1.5 inch skyjacker add-a-leaf that was installed way back in 1992 and has sagged to approximately to stock height again due to the weight of the winch and bumper combo and age. 35x12.5s should fit on your truck no problem at stock height unless you have the diesel motor which is heavier and makes the front of the truck even lower than mine was at stock height. i hope this helps. thanks for the comment.

@NorthAmericanArcher Correct, in this video its 2.5in from the manifolds to the tips in the back, with two sections of flexpipe about 24in long before the rear axle where i deleted the glasspacks.

@kluekluxklan1 i dont know how to message u but on ur truck, tell the muffler shop u want true dual straight pipes made with 2.5in pipe and ask for 4in tips angled at 45 degrees out the back, theres also a way u can do it yourself with flexpipe from a auto parts store...

@Sexymanye419 theres about 3 feet of pipe after the manifolds and then they come close together and share an 02 sensor, right after that was a dual inlet cat, i cut it off there and ran the pipes back, that way i didnt mess with the sensor and i have no check engine lites

My 96 Eddie Bauer has dual 3 inch straights and I have to say, probably the best sound pickup I've had. Btw, me 351 has 210000 miles and still runs strong, he's just a little rusty =P

What kind of long tubes are you gettin'? its impossible to find aftermarket headers for my 89 250 with a 5.8, i ended up with some BBK 302 mustang shorty headers, they fit fine though. I'm running no cats to a 28in glass pack and have a 6in lift n 38in tsl's. Nice truck man

Chips for these ole trucks are worthless, Hypertech makes one and its suppose to add hp. But our trucks need headers, exhaust system, and heads. Chip aint gonna do squat to these trucks. I too have a 89 F250 351w

I put 2 inverted Glass Packs on mine and took off the Catalytic converters. They got plugged up and I cut them off. I live in Kansas, so they are not required here, only thing is, If the car has them on it when it comes into the exhaust shop, they have to put them back on by law, so if you cut them off yourself, you can get an exhaust installed without them and that's what I did. It is louder now, but it has a more bassy sound than yours does. Mine is also a 351 Windsor, but mine is Carbureted on a 1977 Ford Ranchero GT not a great mic on this one, but you can hear it a bit.. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYfLfZihpr6LgM0

That's a beast!! Love that sound!! I have a 77 ford 150 lifted with a 400 with straight pipes and I just love the sound it puts out!! My mic on my cam doesn't do it any justice at all. Had glasspacks on it took them off wasn't loud enough for me. It pisses my neighbors off when I start it up at night to go somewhere. But its my mud/play truck. Check it out on my channel

You need to blast a hole into the pipe on each side and weld in the threaded O2 seats then install your O2 sensors, might have to lengthen a wire or 2, and the computer should be fine.. For those that asked in thread... My 302 in my 89 is such a dog, also think someone swapped out fan from older truck that did not run reverse flow, all I can hear is fan over 1500 RPM... will have to pull some numbers and make sure correct thermal unit, always pulls never slips even when cold.
