@@mridulbaro5361 you have a dumb perspective but it is based in truth. UK stopped paying the debt owed to USA for WW1 in the 1930s, today this debt would be insurmountable. Though you should think that USA population are the descendents of northern europeans specifically British and even today their intrinsic likeness is obvious, they have the same goals; it's the same people. Similar to SA, CA, NZ, Australlia. all Scottish, English, German and Greek or Portuguese; then later in history Irish. UK still are superpower nobody will try them again, and look at the other superpower countries their people made.

Can’t believe so much Love & respect for The Gurkhas, Thank you all. As for my Awesome Ritchie buddy, the respected veteran , he s no more with us, he would had been 98 years old this year in 2021. This short documentary will be a tribute to his demise in this cruel world. He left as a happy man, share this video for them all.

@rajeshbudhamagar2396
@rajeshbudhamagar2396 8 жыл бұрын
+Atkrdu when he talked about the khukhuri,he is true.However with one blow one cannot be cut in three pieces but gurkhas can easily decapitate a person into two halves because ever since they start walking the start using khukhuris and by the time they are 14 they are masters at using the khukhuris with both hands .We have fedtivals where a full grown buffaloes are cut into two halves with a single blow.
@Atkrdu
@Atkrdu 8 жыл бұрын
+Rajesh Budha Magar Wow! You mean someone cuts the buffalo's head off in one stroke? That's impressive. I suppose they use a large blade for that? I knew about the decapitating. Isn't it also the typical way of dispatching the animals that are to be eaten as a more humane way of killing them? Not as subtle as a stab to the spine, but much more humane than some of the methods that are out there.
@rajeshbudhamagar2396
@rajeshbudhamagar2396 8 жыл бұрын
+Atkrdu yes but they can do that with a smaller blade .It is all about techqnique and they dont use too much force either.They just cut the buffaloes with a swift,accurate move .Yes it is true it is much more humane because the buffaloes will feel less pain than other methods .
@Atkrdu
@Atkrdu 8 жыл бұрын
+Rajesh Budha Magar I think I get it. They slice with it, even though they don't necessarily have to with that type of blade, to make it even more effective? I'm looking to get one of these & want to get proficient. What would you suggest doing, besides using it for everything (even the stuff I'd generally use a smaller knife for)? I hear soaked tatami mats & bamboo simulate meat & bone very well. Maybe regular grass & bamboo would work (instead of it having to be a specific species)?

Everyone in the UK has the utmost respect for the Gurkhas. They have fought for our country for over 200 years always with dedication and loyalty. To the eternal shame of the UK that dedication and loyalty wasn't reciprocated until very recently when they were finally granted the same Army pension as British soldiers.

To the people saying indian gorkhalis, f*ck u . What the hell is indian gorkhalis??if a man from assam moves to U.S, do he become American Bihari?? Even not all the citizens of nepal are called gorkhali . There are 77 district in nepal and the people only from gorkha district origin are called gorkhalis. Darjeeling, utraakhand, himanchal,sikkim people are ex nepalis , not gorkhalis . Even in nepal, the eastern are called purbeli, western are often called dotely,paschimely . . 😆have u ever heard " British marathas " ??

The Gurkhas are the kindest, most polite amd most generous people you could hope to meet - unless you are the enemy, in that case god help you as no one else can. In one conflict some British troops at times felt someone touch their foot/ankle looked down to see a Gurkha smilling back at them with thumbs up, they were checking how the boots were laced up. The British army laces them in a certain way, the enemy in another. An enemy soldier may have looked down and seen a quick flash of a knife and that would be it for them, dead before they hit the ground.

What a great little document. Priceless it is, when We find a true witness to the difficulties faced by allied forces in the East. My Grandfather served in India since 1922 Burma in 1944 with the Royal Artillery along side the Gurkha rifles. He was awe inspired by the Gurkha too. He showed me His photographs which included Young Gurkha riflemen guarding the guns & at mess. My Grandfather was not tall, but in the photographs alongside these Young warriours He looks giant. I have a Kukri which belonged to a Major in WW2 i treat it very carefully. To drop it unsheathed, could easily turn out to be a mortal disaster. I keep it hanging 8 feet high up on the wall with a Gurkha slouch hat and a dramatic water colour of the Sittang bridge battle February 42. We can be happy that these Men are honorary British. I'd surrender the shirt off my back for any one of them. Massive respect out to all You people of the tribes that make up the ranks of these fine Gurkha riflemen.

We are the price of our mother land Nepal. don't ever dare calling us indians, you have no rights to make just rejerous claims.

@@darkman8232 its a misunderatanding as India also has a "ghorka" regiment, mostly recruited from northern indians who live close to nepalese border and so are culturally similar to old Ghorka kingdom. Sometimes these two forces are mixed up by people who dont speak english because in english they bassically have the same name

Iriwadi river was where the British engaged the Japanese along with the Gurkhas..Special mention...Lachiman Gurung VC..A Gurkha fighting with two companies waiting in Burma, during WW2. They were attacked by 200 Japanese troops whilst manning a forward position.. After a long stand off he threw back two Grenades, but a 3rd one blew his arm off and wounded him, also wounding his two comrades. Whilst alone and outnumbered for 3 days he fought off attacks using his left arm to attack until eventually the enemy retreated, with 87 laying dead in the vicinity, 31 directly in front of his position

I'm Maori and it would be a dream to fight alongside the mighty Gurkha, my elders spoke nothing but good things about Gurkha and how fierce and stealthy they were. Stories of sneaking into Japanese soldiers camp and cutting all their shoe laces. The next day the whole camp moved. I bet the fighting spirit the Japanese had then was stripped away instantly know it could have been there throats instead of shoe laces that got cut.

Smartest bloke's my grandad ever met, many a story i had the privilege to have been given to me as I grew up. Also my grandad had the upmost respect for the Marauders mob and the West African lad's who volunteered too fight along side Burmas so called forgotten allied armies. You guy's will never be forgotten as I have grandads memories of the joy's n horrors u all shared out there, in Burmas jungles.
