As a 911 operator in a place where recreational marijuana was legalized... this is incredibly accurate. Older, kind, law-abiding citizens trying pot for the first time were always some of my favorite calls. "Yes dear, I'm not sure this is an emergency but... I can feel my blood... inside of me! Moving! I should have probably read the label before eating the entire cookie."

I wrote the sketch and I worked at a urgent care facility being a receptionist / medical assistant I would get these type of calls all the time. I wondered if I am getting these calls what kind of calls are 911 dispatchers getting.. lol Most of the that I got were people doing it for the first time.

It is for this reason I have told my dad, who is now retired and hasn’t smoked weed in over 30 years, that whenever he wants to take a vacation to Colorado (he doesn’t live in a legal state and doesn’t feel comfortable smoking unless he’s in one) that I’m accompanying him 😂

It's been increasing due to the state I live in legalized weed and many are smoking or eating editable for the first time. They either feel dead or that they're dying or they end up being paranoid with a mix of panic attack.

@@zookytar It's because it is. I wrote the skit. I worked at an urgent care as a receptionist and a medical assistant. We would get such calls all year round but the week before and the week after and the week during 4/20 we would get the highest volume of calls and people running to us saying they're dying and they would admit in front of everyone that they went to their friends house and tried weed for the first time. It was always a panic attack mixed in with paranoia. One guy was like does everyone know I smoked weed. .. does my parent's know?? does obama know? I was laughing my ass off it's the way the guy said it.. I wrote the skit and handed it to steve on twitter he is a writer for snl. I wrote this one, the oil baron skit in 2018 and the drivers license skit, republican's or not, thanksgiving baking contest. I notice the most of the calls and interactions I had with people high for the first time. Most thought they were dying or already dead and also some were keep asking me if I am mad at them and who knows that they're high... and if I said everyone they would have another panic attack about how the feds are going to bust them and their life is over and what opera would say about this.. lol

Smoked some weed in the 90s, stopped, smoked with my roommate and his friends in 2008 thinking I could handle it and found out too late that weed had gotten a lot stronger. It seems the Michigan police officer had pocketed some marijuana seized during an arrest and baked it into pot brownies. He hadn't, however, counted on a drug-induced fit of panic. "We made brownies, and I think we're dead. Time is going by really really really really slow." Sanchez escaped prosecution by offering to resign from the force.

I written the skit and it's comes from real experience working at an urgent care. I got a lot of these types of calls around 4/20.... I couldn't help myself had to write the skit about this because the calls even though humorous it would piss me off because they would tie up the phones and people that really needed care would get busy signals. I would get people coming in yelling at me as to why they couldn't get thru. It happens through the year but 4/20 we get a lot of them. I knew if i gotten these calls I was like I wonder what a 911 dispatcher has to deal with.

Omg. This was literally me when I had too much of a cannabis tincture. Lmao In fairness though, I started having palpitations and thought I was having a stroke! Turns out THC can do that to you -- raise your heart rate and then raise your blood pressure. So I had to counter the effect with prescription betablockers but did call the paramedics to come to make sure I wasn't having a stroke or a heart attack or something. It's funny now but have to say, it was kinda terrifying at the moment. Lol My body's reaction eventually calmed down and I slept off most of it. Now I've figured out exactly how much of that tincture I should be taking and never go over that. 🥴🤣

I was feeling queasy, but I was basically tripping at the same time. For a while I thought I might need to go back home because I was not fit for public. Wound up going into the restroom of the restaurant and ripping this fart that wound up making the whole bathroom smell like weed (and some ass) - but it made me feel so much better. I think it's due to restrictions from the FCC... I think they couldn't air that or was more scared too because it's a grey line that the FCC could say it violated the promotion of cigarettes' and weed. The FCC is strict on drugs.

LMAO! This was so funny and on point! The first time I smoked weed, I held my tongue between my teeth while smiling the whole time, over half an hour! My friends were high too, and kept asking me why...I told them I was afraid to swallow my tongue, lol! One friend gave me Funyons and a Coke, and I was all better! I was *thirteen* , and we are still BFF to this day, we are both 48yo! [I don't smoke anymore, but those were the good old days] Hilarious!!

I wrote the skit and is what happens... without showing it. if you noticed the glow at the end. It foreshadows it and the dispatcher never says they're sending someone out. She is typing the record to cover her ass because she knows there will be an investigation and she never recorded the whole interaction which is what they're supposed to do when they talk to you on the phone.

I was at a party in the 80's when a straight-laced PhD candidate took his very first pull of weed, and it was some strong stuff. He went full on 'omigod i'm gonna die'.... and all the drama and actual anxiety that goes with hit. I'm so glad he came down. Beyond that, he was a smart and fine young man.

I had this almost exact experience last night. At 50, I’ve probably been high 3 times my entire life. For 2 straight hours (which felt like 6 hours) my mind raced uncontrollably, and I thought I was dying and contemplated walking to the emergency room.
