You do know you could have just put the magnet in between the phone and case and it’ll stay in place. No need to even use the adhesive. I’ve got the exact same set up with my XS Max.

I was never a cell phone mount kind of guy either, but after watching this video I thought it was worth it and grabbed one. It looks great, and since I only use my cupholder about 10 minutes a year it's not an issue.

I just put my cellphone in the center armrest, connected to the USB port there. Never have to use my phone while I'm driving anyway. And if I do, I can just reach down and pull it out of the armrest. No cables hanging anywhere. No phone mount. No phone getting in the way or falling. If all you want is music, just load all your tunes on an SD card and put the card in the card reader. Or does the .1 not have that?

not sure if you are running into an issue but on certain days when it is hot or too cold especially, the magnetism is weak. during more sporty driving and cornering, the phone just slips off the magnet

This is great I was looking for better mount options. My current one clips into the AC vent and I find it falling out while driving hard. When I’m on the turns I pretty much just keep my phone in center or else it’s gone. Thanks for sharing install looks simple too.

I think it looks better with the slight angle, but the main reason I do that is so I can reach the buttons.

Put a small velcro piece on your cable connector and on the back of magnetic holder to hold the cable when you don’t use it. This will prevent the cable to hang down.

Good vid - when purchasing be sure you check to see if you want the 'upper or lower mount. The bracket is specific to where you want to mount it and is different. So be sure to buy the right one. Also - dont recommend using the adhesive on the magnet provided to the phone. If you change phones you cant reuse the magnet. Keep the magnet on the adhesive sticker barrier and place between the phone and phone cover. Obviously the thinner the case the stronger the magnet. Mine phone case is about medium thickness and the magnet still has decent stickiness I recommend lower passenger side configuration - no issues with cup holder and do you really ever have a passenger?! Jk it isnt too obtrusive

I have the same mount with my iPhone max in my RS. The magnet does not stick well on the inside of the apple leather case. On spirited driving I take the cover off for direct magnet for a much stronger hold. For cable management I use an anker cable to match my interior and I run it just from the side of the Glove department. a Qi charger would be nice but I want to connect to CarPlay

Yea they won't, I put my little metal plate at the very bottom. I have the same apple case on my X and wireless charging still works. Also sticking it to the back of the phone wasn't necessary as there's enough pressure between the phone and the case to keep the plate in a single place.

I wouldn't have put the adhesive on the phone itself, I would've just let the pressure between the phone and case hold it in place. I've heard horror stories of people trying to remove the metal piece after a while and the stress cracks the glass on the back of the phone. I've been using the case to hold it for a while and never had an issue. Just some thoughts

Clean the case and phone with beadmaker. It’s awesome on the phone screen. I agree with that cup holder near the screen and console. I cringe when Adam LZ puts a drink in his. I can just see a smoothie sticky mess all over the screen and switches.

Avoid placing the metal plate on the phone near the center of it. Look up a schematic of the iPhone XS Plus and see where the wireless coils are, and place the metal plates away from them. The metal plates will get super hot and lead to a slow charge when using wireless charging

Hey Matt, How about using just one screw on the bracket? I mean, put the top hole of the bracket to the bottom hole on the car? Not sure if it would be too low or if the side trim would fit properly, but if it does you could use a serrated washer in the single screw to help secure it better. Just a thought. Cheers

I just used it today and only rinsed it out and set it out to dry after use because I also figured that throwing a wheel mitt in the wash with other micro fibers could lead to some contamination in those other towels and then cause marring.

Hi Matt, this is not to do with the vid but to do with hoses. Ive got a pretty standard pressure washer at the moment running 1.5gpm and need a new hose. I would love to buy from your shop but im in Australia so shipping is a bit much, but i was wondering whether i should go for a 1/4 or 3/8 inch hose. I won't be using a hose reel so i think a 1/4 would be easier to manouver around as opposed to a 3/8. Any advice? Keep being a legend, Jacob
