your build is coming along nicely. the whole CV stuff was new to me. looking forward to more episodes!

Thanks! I have a few more episodes ready to go and I'm wondering if I stick with the "publish every Saturday" model or maybe move to twice a week. What do you think?
@iskato914six7 ай бұрын
@@attheredbarn1669 well, it is reasonable to release weekly. you have to do lots of work to publish these videos, however, I can't get enough and want more content :) tough call!

You left us in suspense, I’m curious about the stub axle hubs, will the splines match up ? Ya the headers look awesome 👍!!!. I’m curious if you want to fire up the Ferrari engine just to make sure all is good 🤷🏻♂️ . You’re way past the point of no return 😉. Thanks for all the updates and great work !!!

Love watching your builds at the Red Barn. When I was working out axle length off a 914 trans with custom Type II output flanges and CV's I found a piece of (1" I think?) PVC pipe fit near perfectly in the CV joints. Super easy to mock-up proposed axle lengths and check clearances with quickly cut sections of the pipe. I even added circlip groves in the pipe to 100% determine what length SAW axles to order. Might work similarly on the 108mm CV's? Super nice work on the intake plenums too! Maybe think about a Mclaren M8 (injector stack) style "lip" around the plenum opening, maybe covered with shaped hex-grill material? Cheers!

That's a great idea! Thanks for suggesting - and watching/commenting!

@@attheredbarn1669 Small correction on my prev. comments - that's a 1" diameter piece of tubing that fit my CV joints (not 1" pipe) - but you get the idea - using inexpensive materials and scraps to mock-up the axles. Keep up the great work!

you could just strap the trailing arm end to the chassis rail at the correct droop limit with a strap, my old 67 volvo has tough rubber/canvas straps to stop springs falling out to do that.....

Lot's of interesting tidbits, I was curious about the best method of measuring for cv-driveshafts. I am at the same point with my suspension and exhaust on the Lancia. The companies you share will have my attention too, thanks!

Glad it was valuable for you! McKenzie's will give you all the details. For sure they'll have you covered if you can run VW or Porsche-sized CVs.

You're going to leave that plenum Ferrari red right? Interesting to match that with the car color, good design opportunity.
@attheredbarn16697 ай бұрын
Yep, the plenum will stay red. Not landed on all the other stuff but currently thinking some red in the interior, too. Exterior probably some sort of blue (Ferrari TDF maybe, or Blu Pozzi) but we'll see.

Was wondering if it would have been easier and maybe looked more “factory” if you spliced 2 Ferrari intakes together to have the same slope front and back
@attheredbarn16697 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching/commenting! I was thinking about that and agree a matchy/match front and rear would have looked better. But for sure, it wouldn't have been easier; that new slope would have required a reshaping of the indent on the top that would have made it uneven around the "Ferrari" lettering.
