This was a HUGE win for Dallas at the time. They hadn't won a non-strike home game vs. Philly since 1985 (they won vs. them in 1987, but that was a strike/scab game)

Your comment had great info. Hard to believe it was over 30 years ago. Commercials were talking about the election that was coming 2 days later where Bill Clinton was elected president. 9/11 was 9 years into the future. Great football.

@@phillyd4874 I wouldn’t call the Cowboys a dumpster fire. They won 12 games in the last 3 consecutive seasons. Not every team has a GM like Howie Roseman who really does a great job for you guys. As a Steelers fan I like to see the Eagles do well. It reminds me of Bill Burr’s infamous rant you “one bridge having …” Just kidding. Good luck this season. 👍🍀

As a lifelong cowboys fan there's no team I hated more than the Philadelphia eagles to this day I still despise them and this game here was when I knew Dallas was going to win the super bowl when they won this game they had beaten us earlier in the year but if you go back to that game earlier in the year that 30 to 7:00 Monday night game Dallas put up like 450 yards of offense in that game they went up and down the field so they had figured Philadelphia out they just kept bubbling around and making mistakes and I knew the tide was turning and when we beat them here I knew we was on our way to the super bowl though I was worried about Buffalo to be honest lol and I'm not just saying that I was actually afraid of the Buffalo bills back then because I knew I know people like to knock them but that was a hell of a football team and I kept thinking they're going to win one of these times and when we got them in the super bowl I was so worried there's no way they'll lose three in a row That's what I thought lol I was so afraid we would lose to them

Lin Elliott really tried to give the game away to the Eages because the Cowboys were really that much better. It also showed that the death of Jerome Brown in the 92 off season really hurt the Eagles defense. Emmitt was the first 100 yard rusher against the Eagles in a long time. They just didn't have that run stuffer in the middle which Jerome Brown was. The Cowboys would go on to dominant the Eagles and beating them in 2 divisional playoff games. The Cowboys that season were rising and showed the NFL that they were no pushovers anymore.

@@garytruex6906 I know there was a lot of talk about how bad the team was when Jimmy Johnson took over, but you are right there were several very good players left over from Landry‘s team that had a big part in the Super Bowl wins. Michael Irvin, Ken NortonJr., Nate Newton, Mark Tuinei, Jim Jeffcoat and so on

The Eagles were in a state of flux in '92. Reggie White had gone to Green Bay, Randall Cunningham was back after missing all of '91 from a knee injury, but looked shaky at times. Cris Carter had been waived and found a new home with the Vikings. The times were changing for the Eagles. Interestingly enough, Cunningham would join Carter in '97 and have a season for the ages the next year.

Dallas' SI retrospective publication emphasized that the Eagles here were no longer the intimidating juggernaut that routed the Cowboys in Week 3, 31-7. Probably, Dallas also had all the motivation and sharpened teeth that comes with losing to them so badly on MNF. Come playoff time, the cherry on the sundae, a 34-10 plucking!

Lifer COWBOYS HISTORIAN sincec 76 born and still here in Philthy. A few things: Novacek was playing with a couple of broken fingers in this game, why so many drops. Btw., as much as I love Jay....is was nowhere near as great as Cosbie, Witten, DuPreevand honestly if he was thrown more balls Jay Saldi was such a greatvall around tight end. Saldi and Cosbir dontget nearly the credit. Also he began as a WR, but theclast two seasons Frank Clarke the original #82 was ....omg, he was such a dynamic player. Lin Udiot shoud have been gone adter this game. Also, many do not realizecwhen we brought over Rob Awalt and Novacek...Awalt was the better all around tight end, much bette blocker than Jay,...but Awalt kept getting hurt and Troy just hit it off with Jay.

pathetic that the eagles had that defense for 5-6 years and couldnt put an adequate offense together with it. me and a bunch of fantasy football nerds could have put a better offense together with just free agents that no one else wanted any more. sad and weak.
