I thoroughly enjoyed your vid. Loved all the extra time you showed in the engine room, bilges and underwater. For those of us who really take care of boats, that was very educational. Thanks!

So the rope you took of the starboard prop also snagged the port while spooling up, thus the shock sheared of the bolts, the bolds are there for that reason as a designed point of failure. The props, the hull and engines costs far more to repair than 4 bolts, that the yoke broke loos is concerning though. Thanks for sharing. My two cent

There is a lot of cleaning that never gets seen. The captain is really good about it.... Myself, I catch myself accidentally putting fingerprints places sometimes when I shouldn't. Then the captain would spot them and give them a quick wipe. Made me feel a little bad, but then I started remembering to watch my fingerprints and even wiping them up after I made them.

I used to think that the Florida Crock was a myth until I started seeing them. They love those open waterway areas. Like marinas, bays, mouth of rivers, streams and creeks. Watching you guys secure the prop and ringing the prop like a dinner bell had my anxiety on full alert lol. Because its not just the crocks.... it's the bullsharks territory as well. Spent a lot of off season time in my teens swimming off of crab Island and have seen some things. Bullsharks running prey to ground on the beach and Crocks swimming by with medium sized dogs. I've spent enough time in Florida to know there are 2 places you don't go. Under mobile homes or into murky water😂 Worked a summer as a Nuisance Animal Removal Professional.... being the smallest guy I had to climb under trailers of a 55+ community. Cats, Dogs and wildlife was coming up missing. Retention ponds didn't have any gators big enough to take down the size of some of the dogs that disappeared. But the 15.5 foot Burmese I found under this 93 year old woman's trailer did and it was sitting on a large clutch of eggs.

Just FYI for anyone in the comments about using simple green. Do not use the regular simple green on aluminum. It is a known cause of metal imbrittlement on aluminum parts. They do make an aviation simple green. It does about 85% as good of a job, but is formulated to be safe on aluminum. You just need to scrub and or use 15% more..... Lol It does cost a bit more, and can be harder to find. But, it's not THAT much more, and it's really not hard to find online.

This is why I hate “Dripless” shaft seals. When they fail it can cause catastrophic flooding. They depend on water flowing to the gland from a running engine. The dead engine obviously isn’t making water flow. A hose with a T could be rigged up to temporarily provide water to the windmilling shaft. When these shaft seals have a catastrophic failure, the action taken is to stop all movement and open up a response kit that has strip of rubber to wrap around the leak and an immobilizer device. That device can be a pipe wrench or a custom bracket specific to that ship. This yacht appears to have an incredibly difficult to access shaft seal. A better access would have been nice however huge bilge pumps would be highly advisable. I will not own a boat with dripless shaft seals. A traditional packing shaft seal with Gore Tex packing may need adjustment every few years but last a long long time and not have as severe failure.

You kept performing the “Valsalva Maneuver” when you were under water. Did you happen to have ear problems, or ear surgery when you were younger??? #curiosminds

It's deep enough, after just 6 ft of water pressure (my height) you will likely experience discomfort. The more pressure that builds up the harder to clear. Coming from someone who had an ear surgery as a kid. 22 now and diving without issue.

can you share, ball range what the owner paid to have you and your friend do the entire trip. is it a daily cost and how much?n The care of the boat you and your friend acted was really cool to see. The taping at the end as well. If I owned that huge asset and it was in the care of you two, I would sleep at night and give you both a M Fo tip!

The master captain, Joe, works on the boat full time so is salary and not paid for the specific trip. Myself, I came on specifically for the trip and get paid a day rate. As for how much I got paid, I'll keep that private, but it's probably not as much as you'd expect. Well thank you for that comment. It's actually a bit of a fun challenge to see how well you can take care of the boat. How did that famous saying go? "Now, the way it works shipboard is, you do your job. You do it good, you get a better job. Maybe you get promoted from swab to mate." Captain Ron
