Liam Doran and his 900+ Hp Ford RS200 specially prepared for Pikes Peak, made a special appearance at this year´s edition of Retro Rides Gathering in Shelsley Walsh.
With more power, less weight and more aerodynamic aids than ever, the exDieter Knuttel machine tackled the historic British Hillclimb in brutal fashion with the ex-Rallycross driver going a bit beyond the limits and producing some incredible images.
Special Thanks to Ben Green and IR-STAR-DUST for providing some of the scenes used on this video. To check Ben Green´s original Movie with a compilation of almost all machines present at Retro Rides Gathering 2017 click here ---» • Retro Rides Gathering ...

He cut into the apex too sharply and clipped the inside. Now everyone ignores that he continued the run with a punctured front right tire and calls him a shit driver. Mistakes happen and his was unfortunately off of the bat. It can happen to anyone. You'd probably stay quiet if Sebastien Loeb did that, as unlikely as it is.

Bolverk-GTM apex? That's not even really a corner
@BolverkAtlasia
@BolverkAtlasia 7 жыл бұрын
Barely a corner, but it still has an apex. You don't turn the whole way through it, you go for a pretty straight line through it. You're still hitting an apex. He tried to turn into it a bit and that humongous front spoiler snagged into the ground.

Well... that hurt. Beautiful machine even after the hood deployment. Is he a bad driver? Absolutely not! It was actually quite impressive seeing him hold a feather weight 900hp track fighter jet together on the pavement after shoveling a dirt apex and having his facial diffuser interfering in his front tire. Anybody saying he’s a “shit driver” are more than likely the same type of amateurs I see eating dirt on the cork while track daying at Laguna. Or someone with little to no racing experience at all other than their little Forza Motorsports games.

This is just a comment from some old guy after ten years working on the crash truck for SCCA on the West Coast and on several race teams... I'm amazed (probably shouldn't be though!) how easy it is to sit in my office chair (comfy leather with the recliner feature...) at my computer and rip on these guys that have worked their tails off to get a temperamental race car into shape to make a flat-out 30-second run up a relatively unknown "drainage ditch" at about 9-tenths to put on a good show for the fans... then a crowd of 'arm-chair quarterbacks" critique your spectacular performance! Before giving credence to one of these folks, I'd like to see one of them put in the 1,000 hours work in the middle of the night after the "other job" trying to get that beast in show condition! It's so damned easy to be critical when you have no skin in the game!!!!!!!

This is not a crash due to an unexpected thing but to inexperience of the driver. Yes you can crash because of gravel, ice, snow, rain, animals, people or anything else who make you lose adherence to the road. This can of crash can happen to a Pro driver. But here, this is a very beginner mistake, like if the pilot never drived the car before or from someone don't know his car. He can be good, but it's not a Pro. The definition of a Pros is exactly someone who does not do this kind of mistakes anymore. Or the pilot are drugged, drunk etc. But in this case he don't deserve the title of pilot.

Andrew Walker. Being educated is not a job. When you'll be in pain on the side of the road, this guy will just do "his job". He will let you down or best, will do nothing. Not his job. Exactly what the designer of the bonnet thought about securing it: "Not my job"...

Jesus folks, all that anger for nothing. It's a composite part, when they snap they do so in a very messy manner. The honest truth is that the owner would most likely choose not to join the snapped pieces back together but rather mold a whole new front clip. Insulting an older gentleman like this is a ridiculous show of poor manners. And as Andrew correctly pointed out, his job is to keep the track clear. if the driver was bothered all that much, he wouldn't have continued the run with a piece of bodywork rubbing against the tyre.

i must admit, i was expecting a 900hp rs200 to be very impressive! how wrong was i? simon mckinleys white escort was probably as fast running 330 ish hp, and was a better driver.
