“That sun will not go down. There is something wrong with the earth.” 😂 I almost spit out my coffee laughing at that one. That’s a hell of a lot of hot miles, my friend. I had similar urge to just push the 970 or so miles from Sheridan, WY but the cross winds really beat that notion out of me. I’m glad you made it home safely!

I was glad to be get home Andrew thankful it was not much hotter, high winds make for a long day and are a definite realty check to how far you should go. Very wise on your part, glad you and the group made it home safely. I had a blast and enjoyed the time riding and working with you on the DR650.

Joe ... Mr. LUND guy. Thank you, it was a great trip to some places that I had not seen before and was able to meet up with some very nice people. I thought about you as I traveled through Wyoming, such a beautiful place. CC would have been useful for sure, not even a throttle lock on the Vstrom like last year, those are handy too. We need to do a breakfast soon brother.

Frank!!! Other than tubeless, the T700 would have been better in every way, more power, Sargent seat, longer range and a better fit for taller people, it has the factory hard cases, and touring screen as well. I will get the tubeless conversion on the rear wheel done before the years out from Wheel Works so I can comfortably take it on longer trips. As hot as it is, and old as I am, I don't think I would last long on the side of the highway fixing tube in a rear tire in 110 degrees. I may just send both wheels for peace of mind. But I can't knock the fun and miles the $4k V650 gave me. Priceless!

V1050 V1000 V650 in that order for the highway. V1000/V1050 almost too close to call but 1050 has cruise. Gas mileage on a loaded V650 about the same or slightly worse at freeway speeds than the big V's That would be a good Video, since I believe I owned all Vstroms. I live in Surprise, AZ and have another place in Klamath Falls, OR. I’ve ridden my bikes (Yamaha Super Tenere and a Kawasaki Voyager) up and back multiple times. This last trip on the Labor Day long weekend on my Tenere up thru the middle of NV to Battle Mtn, to Winnemucca, north to NV140/NV140 to Klamath. 1079 miles, I applied for the SaddleSore1000 certificate. Between the heat and crosswinds you do get beat up. Well worth the ride, the last 300 miles (to Klamath) makes it worth it. Stay safe!
