Some track day footage from Brands Hatch. Neither of us were really pushing, especially the first couple laps, but it was fun all the same. Jimbo (on the 929 fireblade) despite being on a bike some 22 years older with no electronics was showing me the way around and was smooth as silk, me not so much...I was just having too much fun trying to ride it like a giant dirt bike 😀
I was in my "road" settings for this session, traction on level 2 and anti wheelie on level 1 (track officials get a bit upset about wheelies in the UK...) but I did try the "track" settings later in the day which were an improvement and made the bike more stable under acceleration.
Whilst the Tuono is very capable on track, I am not sure that the upright handlbars really lend themselves to proper track riding, I think that I might find something with clip-ons to be a bit better to learn the whole body position/elbows down hanging off the bike jazz... Cheap track day bike incoming 🤔
Apologies for the poor audio & not so great camera angle on the Tuono (camera has to be physically mounted to the bike in the UK...so this was a bit of a bodge job). Will do better next time.
