June, 2023 In listening to this, Huey is such a totally amazing man, musician, father, friend to others and more. Never met him but listening to his interviews, songs, videos I feel God has blessed him with a strong will to survive, a huge loving heart and a kindness about him that you dont see often anymore. I admire and am proud of your ability to carry on despite whatever health or life issues in general you may go through. Stay strong, and keep the faith Huey❤ A faithful fan with much hope for you in the future 🙏 ✝️

Huey is living proof that u can’t age out of COOLNESS. He’s just always been cool. He’s the coolest old guy I’ve ever seen. Just cool. He’ll be cool til the day He dies. I've seen Huey and the News in Oakland, Salinas, Santa Clara. Santa Clara was special because it was a private Apple party. It was a month after I saw them in Oakland so the minute I saw the stage I knew exactly who was playing and was thrilled.

Great interview with one of my all time favorite musicians. Also great to see Mark Goodman (One of the original MTV VJ's) interviewing Huey. Can you believe he was introducing Huey's music videos almost 40 years ago? Time really flies.

A great interview. Huey mentions my favourite song from “Small World. “Walking with Kid”. The band is on fire on this track, particularly Bill Gibson’s drumming. There must have been plans to release it in Australia as a single because its listed (along with Perfect World and Small World on the promo sticker on the album cover)

Agree. "Walking With the Kid" is probably my favorite as well. I love the lead guitar tone on that song. I was a fan in the 80s, but never explored the entire catalog until more recently. "Walkin' On a Thin Line" is a favorite as well, and never knew again until recently that the song was about the plight of the Viet Nam veterans. Great rockn' roll tune. What a band though. Nineteen songs in Billboard's Top 10. Not many bands can boast that stat.

A very nice interview. Interesting to hear more of his story. The music business scene of the early 80's was extraordinarily limited. If you didn't fit into the proverbial "box", you weren't accepted. A lot of great talent was passed over. I hope it's improved- nice to know and hope musicians and other entertainers have more latitude these days to be themselves and do their own thing. To my limited knowledge the internet has helped, b/c artists don't have to depend so much anymore on the jerks that used to run the show 🙂. Really like the new ideas. My sense is Huey will reinvent himself with aplomb. Good luck to him.

Hi Everyone! And yes, radio was the best! and it can be again too! BUT SOMEONE ( OR A SMALL GROUP OF FRIEND SOMEONES ) NEED TO BUY THEIR OWN RADIO STATION!! THATS HOW IT CAN BE AGAIN.. I know Huey didn't like doing those videos because they would make him wear those parachute pants. He hated that, likes wearing his jeans. I with my cousin was down somewhere I think in Salinas CA wear Huey Lewis and the News played and they had to shoot an MTV video.

As an interviewer, you set a negative tone at the beginning by saying, "We aren't friends." Why start off that way unless you want to sabotage the interview?
