“Each of us is living our own private journey,” says Tan France, one of the stars of Netflix’s overnight sensation Queer Eye.
“The more we know about each other, the healthier and happier the world will be.” True to his word, Tan’s new memoir-heartfelt, funny, touching-tells Tans own origin story for the first time: what it was like to grow up gay in a traditional South Asian family as one of the few people of color in South Yorkshire, England. Join him to hear about how he came of age, found his voice and style, and finally came out to his family at the age of 34, revealing he was happily married to the love of his life: a Mormon cowboy from Salt Lake City.
Recorded on June 4, 2019 at 92nd Street Y.

So much love and respect for this man. He's drop dead gorgeous, truly handsome. But Not only Tan is incredibly smart and considerate, he leads with so much politiness and at the same time you can feel his charisma, power and firmness in everything he does. He truly acts like a leader and works in way in life by being so honest and open.

i know, it makes me so mad. I'm Korean but grew up in the US and the american tsa were SO rude to me. Saying things like, "How do you not know what to put in the bin, do you not know english????" I can imagine having a 4 hour conversation with all of them except Karamo. He's too overpowering in interviews. Conversations are meant to be between 2 or more people. They are not monologues. And is not confident, fierce or empowering to talk over people and make a whole conversation about you. Sorry not sorry to his stans.

Bear in mind that scenes are edited, not all of their conversations is shown, but only the deepest findings on both sides. That was a great interview. I’m glad that an out and proud gay Muslim immigrant is giving wonderful advice on how to combat hatred and bigotry. Tan France says that using kindness and understanding as weapons against hate is more effective than fighting hate with hate. I’m sure any true Christian will recognize this as a lesson from Jesus. I’m not surprised; Google the role of Jesus of Nazareth in Islam and prepare for a shock lol

Fun fact: I’m french and when Antoni said « révision » I was like « what the heck I never heard an american with such a good french accent and then I remembered that he’s canadian, therefore he probably speaks québécois wich is an other form of french. And after listening to this part three times I can confirm he has the accent of a québécois ! And I love this accent, some french people make fun of it because it’s very strong but I find it charming and it suits Antoni’s nice personnality so well.
