The fact that Kelly never wanted children but she considers her tv daughter as her own warms my heart. It just goes on to show that the casting for GG was spot on. They were all totally believable as a family, and the fact that they consider themselves family just goes to show how perfect they are. ♥️

So Kelly Bishop changed my life. Memories of being 6 on my gramma’s couch, watching Gilmore Girls - turned into being enraptured by her performance in A Chorus Line as a teen… which turned into me using “At the Ballet” as an audition song which lead to me being admitted into my dream college in NYC… we both moved there at the young age of 18…which lead to me discovering that she was a Colorado native with a tough relationship with her father… and she found herself by devoting her life to the arts. We have so much in common and her life has influenced mine without me even realizing it. She means so much to me.

I've been waiting for this to get uploaded omg!! It was such a delight watching Kelly and Lauren discuss Kelly's new memoir. Lauren was the perfect choice as the host. I also can't wait to get my hands on a copy of the book! However, I seriously wish that Alexis showed up to this event for at least a few minutes so we could have all three Gilmore girls together... I understand why she couldn't make it or be a part of this, but I'm sure she's cheering her on from wherever she is, just like all of us. Anyway, I'm sending major congratulations to Kelly because she deserves this accomplishment as well as the success of her career up to this point ❤❤ (This is such an iconic moment in pop culture history that we're witnessing right now. Like I genuinely feel so lucky to be alive and watching this because it made me so unbelievably happy. I'm actually about to cry because Gilmore Girls is my favorite show, and it's truly everything to me because Rory and Lorelai's relationship is so similar to my relationship with my mother, who passed away last year in July, but ignore the whole teen pregnancy stuff along with the drama the girls went through, of course, so we're basically the same as the Gilmores in our dynamic. The first time I watched the show was in 2012, but I turn it on every year during fall and winter, and now, after my mother's death, it feels like I constantly think about the show and watch a random episode or a scene on a daily basis just to feel closer to her by watching Rory and Lorelai. My mother was the Lorelai to my Rory, and it honestly works because we're so similar to the characters, and my mother was such a bubbly and vibrant spirit like Lorelai with her confidence and independence, and I'm just like Rory, an English major, who often also felt overprotected by my mother, which is why I sometimes found myself at a crossroads during my life in terms of my academics because I've always known what I wanted to do, but now I've been unemployed for a year and have graduated from university for over a year, but I'm sure I'll figure out what to do next after I properly deal with my grief, and don't worry, I did not drop out like Rory did even if I get why she did that at one point due to the way she was raised, so I kind of relate to her in a sense, but I'm glad that I have a stable and present father who isn't like Christopher. This video right here is a treasured gem for sure that will please literally any fan of Kelly Bishop, Lauren Graham, or the show, Gilmore Girls! 🥰)

Update: So far the first hour is wild. There's a performance by the original Broadway line-up of Chicago. Kelly is truly luminous, she blows all the other hosts and nominees off the stage, she's mindblowingly gorgeous and her dress, even by today's standards is 👌👌👌 Ed's being all humble and professional. When it gets to a boring bit, I pretend I'm trapped in Emily's living room watching old ballroom vids and it exponentially improves the experience 😅
