I find your video lectures very informative. As a Catholic and a lover of history, your lectures fill in the gaps of world history that I never got in any of my history classes in high school or college. Thanks 🙏

You premiered this video today, and I see that you already have over two thousand views, and that you're over 52 thousand subscribers. Can you imagine delivering this presentation to a room with two thousand people in it? How many history lectures ever are seen by so many? What a wonderful thing.

Another fascinating history lesson Dr Abramson. As a Jewish man with Dutch/Lithuanian heritage in Oceania (NZ), these particular episodes are especially interesting. Caught your little comment about ‘the civilised country to the north’ and had a good chuckle. Keep up the good work.

Will you be doing a video specifically about the Newport community & Touro Synagogue and its origins and early history? Also about Moses Seixas? I’ve heard that he was a Grand Master Freemason and that is why George Washington came to Touro to speak.

Very knowledgeable historian with deep and broad insight to demography of “ethnic” Jews (whatever they are today) in the world today. Difficult to understand why the term “Semite/Semitic” has been applied to contemporary Jews which is descendants of Juda in bibleic Israel (Roman Palestine)?

From the the three schools of enlightenment it was the most radical one that took root in America. It was the school of Samuel Holdheim. זה ששנה ופירש והתיר את השרץ בק״נ טעמים. Not Geiger or Zacharia Frankel ( Although they came late 19th century) This thanks to David Einhorn who was a radical reformer from the school of Hodelheim . He just didn’t take the step of officiating at assimilation marriage. So with this he had a fallout with his Rebbe . This together with the less reformed Issac Meyer Weiss . Who by the way introduced the mixed seating in Shul , which even the most radical reformers didn’t think of ( take the Hamburg temple for example). מצא מין את מינו Together they destroyed any vestige of Yiddishkeit and America became the treife medina.

nice presentation, perhaps many more 'crypto' Jews and those remnants from lost 10 tribes and others that had lost the tradition for various reasons (orphaned at a young age and adopted by gentiles.)

Mr.Abramson is Eurocentric. When he talks about the Jews in the new world he basically refers to Canada-USA. The USA and Canada did not exist when the Sephardic Jews expelled from the Iberian Peninsula landed in the areas of the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America. At that time, the Southwestern USA was part of New Spain (The Mexican empire). There are more than 200 million Latinos descendants of these Jews. There are articles all over the world that documents the 25% Jewish heritage of Latin Americans.

Your history is not complete. It is missing pertinent information. The first Jew to come to America to settle was Matthias DeSouza in 1636. I believe that he is my maternal relative. He came from Europe (Portugal), but he was not white. You can verify this with The Library of Congress. The 23 Jews that you mentioned came from Brazil after the Portuguese retook it from the Sephardim. Many others went to Barbados. Barbados has the oldest Jewish synagogue. Mathias came to America more than two hundred years before the German scientists who created Racial Classifications via (science - Zoology - Anthropology). Racial classifications created White race which created White Supremacy. I find it very interesting that Sephardim (the darker skinned - Jews) are left out of the history when they created the foundation on which Ashkenazim rule supreme. That just goes to show the power of white supremacy in white washing everything. Touro was Sephardi so was Sir Moses Maimonides and Moses Montefiore. In the name of God, we must get to the truth and stop the discrimination against the darker skinned Jews.

You might find this video helpful. I haven’t found any information to suggest that DeSouza was Jewish. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ol7Ti6qqnLaJoK8
