My father was 14 years old when he enlisted. He needed to get his mothers permission, which she gave. My father served in WWII and Korea and was also stationed in the south pacific. My father never spoke about his time in the military. We just so happened to be in Washington DC when they were dedicating the WWII memorial. There were thousands of veterans there. That was the day I saw my father heal, and it was the first time I ever saw him cry. I was so thankful to have witnessed this because I know he sacrificed so much....just like every other veteran that has served. I want to thank every single one of them, because it was their sacrifice that ensured my freedom! THANK YOU!

He was an exemplary father and role model, who taught me right from wrong and how to survive. You remind me of him in ways, and I dont mind watching you one bit teaching and leading by example. I served in the Navy and I salute this man. When I put that uniform on 4 the 1st time I felt a sense of pride. When my wife would see me in uniform she also felt a sense of pride. Every time I see a vet from any era I always shake their hand and thank them.

My father was a USAAF B-29 navigator in the Pacific 1944-1945. He died in 2016 age 94. He kept - and I have - his original flight jacket

Your Honor, i served in Vietnam and was mistakenly mistreated for many years after the war for war crimes that other soldiers committed Nevertheless I went back to work in a paper mill in Oaks, Pennsylvania and yesterday in the grocery store a young employee shook my hand and welcomed me home and I thanked him for making my day happy-:)
