I thank God for Bill Geither and Gloria . Through KZbin, we have come to know great singers . God bless you. From Kenya.

WOW! What a terrible loss for James Blackwood to experience. I can only imagine his pain. Thank God for people to hold us back when our grief overwhelms us. Jake Hess was truly a friend indeed!

When I was a little boy, James Blackwood was my hero. I loved his singing. I even wore a suit like him.

In the mid 1950s I wore out a Blackwood Brothers album. I was a teen, and had been singing Southern Gospel style since I was about 12. I never thought James Blackwood had a great voice, but he had a style that really worked for the genre: kinda punchy, reminiscent of shaped note singing, IMHO, great range, and you could understand every word.
