94-01 Dodge Ram Idle Issue Solved

Thanks for the video..it fixed my old ‘97 Ram. I changed out all the other sensors like you had done with no luck also. The issue had been getting worse for a long time. Finally fixed..thanks!

Have a 98 dakota that would randomly run like crap, did the usual tps, map/maf, plugs wires cap/rotor. cleaned throttle body/AIC. verified fuel pressure. still ran like crap, finally one day it started acting up on me and it pissed me off, i was on a really long straight stretch of road and i just floored it wide open and held it there for 2-3 miles, bucking and missing like crazy and finally the check engine light came on, got it back home, pulled codes for both O2 sensors, replaced with Bosch sensors and its been happy since, I can't believe it ran like crap the entire time like that and not throw a check engine light

Yes exactly what happened with me I tried plugs distributor and cap and ignition coil

Did your truck cut out and back fire and miss too my truck has that hissing and idles like crap like it has a big cam and cuts out then it will run fine for awhile

It would only idle rough and hiss but when I tapped the throttle it would go away

@Tyler King that's what mine does too but sometimes it stumbles and acts funny then it runs fine

The hissing is usually iac valve..hope this helps

I had exactly same issue did plum 3 years prior just replaced o2 also 1 yr ago had to redo plum add aluminum plate didn't do o2 wouldn't idle when warm no vacuum leaks replaced idle valve cleaned throttle plate replace throttle position truck only pulled 14 in of vacuum though it was to low . I had the same vacuum sound around throttle .changed o2 and Idles perfect.

what o2s did you use? i had a high voltage code, fixed the harness wiring but its still idling rough, it has ntk 02 sensors in the truck but still running bad.

I used Bosch, if you had a high voltage code that means it’s running rich, I would look into the causes for that if the sensor you put in is new, check the plugs wires, check for vacuum leak etc.

Ntk sucks in my opinion had new distriutor cap/rotor wires and I believe spark plugs all went bad in a month and when I went to take the plug wires off the core ripped right out even with silicon grease inside

my truck runs great without any for issues for about an hour then starts to sputter and stall at low rpms ,was yours doing this or was it running rough from the start?

What are the OE brand 02 sensors?

Probably ntk or something equivalent, if not that a mopar sensor from the dealer if you can still get them

My truck has this issue as well but mine cranks starts and falls on its face if I feather the gas it’ll stay running but runs like crap when I release the gas it dies sometimes idles at 300 rpm’s

My first guess would be check your fuel rail pressure or check if you have the firing order correct on the distributor

I changed the IAC. It started right up and stay running drove away from home for 30 minutes and it stopped when I slow down and pulled into McDonald's. Now it's doing the same won't stay running without accelerating could drive with 2 feet😮‍💨 someone help

I had that issue taking off my exhaust I had the best luck cleaning the o2 sensors and using a little seafoam if I were you get a decent code reader and start looking at live data

Mine has no light but it's Smooth but when ideling it's just quick miss like 1 cylender .it's smooth then bam then smooth agian ant even close to quiting. I bet that's it man 97 318 gonna try it.good vido

Do the o2 sensors read fine with out the cat? Tried everything on mine, I’m assuming my cat is clogged as well!

@@Tylerking313 dang that’s awesome, I was worried if I deleted my cat that it’ll throw codes. I have a rough idle as well and occasionally throws codes for Evap leak or running rich in bank 1, was planning on deleting the cat and seeing if that solves my problems, I’ve replaced a bunch of stuff and still nothing has worked

That's why I don't buy none from the auto parts store.I buy straight from the dealership.May cost me more, but I'll tell you.One thing, it's gonna last a hell of a long time before you buy from the auto parts store.I know what I'm talking about.Cause I got 2 of them dodged Dakota's both from Scott 59 and both of scott's standard transmissions and they both run good.I know what I'm talking about.Because i've been around it so many times
