Great video. This brings a lot of value! I’m leaking around those grommets and couldn’t find a part number to save my life. Now I know. I’ll just do everything like you did! Thanks for this my friend.

Hey Joe, this video is a lifesaver. I have a 96 LT1 that eats money. Just had a shop replace the intake manifold gaskets. Everything was fine, then oil leaks again. Initially, I wanted to sell the car and stop throwing money at it, but you made me rethink that. Bought the fel-pro gasket from walmart and will do this job the next nice day here in Annapolis, MD. Thank you, Sir!!!

Having trouble taking out the passenger side, seems like alternator is in the way yet it seems you didn’t have to remove yours ? It’s a 92 corvette lt1
@tinkeringjoeVA7 ай бұрын
Yeah, I didn't have to remove mine. But mine is a 94 with an LT1. If im not mistaken the the 92 had a TPI motor and may be a little different

Thanks. I will try to do that with 93 vet

So just did this job on my 95 and now I’m getting little tiny droplets of oil on top of valve covers. Ugh.. can see a small amount drip of oil at valve cover lip. Maybe I’ll try some sealant. Everything was clean and new gaskets.

Do you have it torque down enough?

I used the set I picked up at AutoZone. FEL-PRO VS50443R. It seem to fit fine without any issues

No need for a product like “The Right Stuff” or other sealant?
@cheezyrider11113 жыл бұрын
I’d like an answer to this also
@CaseTheCorvetteMan2 жыл бұрын
@@cheezyrider1111 @Dr. P's Projects : Not required at all. These are soft rubber seals, not traditional style cork gaskets. All the seals will seal correctly and there will be no leaks provided the correct torque spec is used during assembly. You will find that in the factory service manual under section 5 if i remember right. Don't just guess, too loose and it'll leak, too tight and you could crack the covers, and crush the seals.

@Dr P's Projects See other answer, can't seem to get your name up in the response.
